Focus notes are used when we are rigging and focusing for a performance. The first column is the channel. This is the order we focus the lights in. On the first page for example all the 1K’s are in order because 1K’s are used for backlight. The socket column tells us where the light was plugged in. This was helpful for when we was rigging and for when we was programming. But if we couldn’t plug a light in to the desired socket because a speaker was in the way or the plug didn’t work we would edit our focus notes and change it to the socket we plugged it in. The lantern column tells us what light to plug in. This was useful when rigging because someone could get the next light ready to be put in the rig. This made the rigging process more efficient. Finally the focus column. This told us where to focus the lights when focusing. The problem that we found was this that the focusing notes were very basic. So we still needed the acts and designer to tell us where to focus. This is present by the amendments we made to our focus notes.
