Summary. The author focuses on the term “linguistic picture of the world”. The task of the linguo-cognitive research of this entity is to reveal the contents of its numerous cognitive- pragmatic levels. The author describes the constructive components of the communicative- pragmatic register of the linguistic picture of the world, including the emergence of a secondary image and apperception. According to the author, communicative and pragmatic architectonics of the linguistic picture of the world are archetypes and cognitive metaphors, and idioms are one of the key language tools of its representation.

Summary. The presented paper discusses typological and ethnocultural parallels, re- flected in phraseological units in which the presence of such elements as the functioning of lin- guistic units with a pronounced national-cultural component. They they most reflect the specif- ics of a particular national culture; they are characterized by full or partial adaptation in the phonetic, lexical, grammatical, spelling plan in the language in which the discourse is created.

Summary. The German proverbs can justify opposite points of view. If it is necessary, the people select a proverb that confirms a particular point of view and ignores the antinomy. The first reason of this phenomenon is human psychology because people need to feel confident and pro- tected. The second reason is knowledge of opposites; experience improves that the situation can develop in two opposite ways.

Summary. The study is dedicated to the semantic deviation of figurative comparisons in the English-language literary text. Frame analysis of such expressions allows to reveal the deep lay- ers of textual information, while the author notes the difficulty of determining the initial frame of the interpretation of figurative comparisons.

Summary. In the article phraseological units of three groups are considered: coinciding on the translation and value, not coinciding in translation and the values which are absent in lan- guage because there is no cultural association.

Summary. The paper deals with interpretation of semantics and pragmatics of proverbs

The extended ap- paratus of role-and-reference grammar helps to bring out thematic roles the name of concept plays in semantic structure of proverbial sentence-utterance and thus reveal conceptual features of Truth in Russian and English linguistic culture.
