Do’s and don’ts

Objectives of this group work
• Learn from peers: Every person has different skills and backgrounds that can contribute in different ways to a project
• gain different perspectives
• help you to articulate your view points better and able to listen to others
• Learn how to work with people in real life, adapt to different working style, improve your relationship with family members and friends
• Carry out a project that is too complex for an individual
Objectives of group work
• Get to teach each other, aid long-term retention of facts
• Learn your own as well as your members’ strengths and weaknesses
• How to be accepting of each other’s faults, no one is perfect
• Have a focus, no matter how difficult, you all agree to see it through
• How to question the view points of others without offending someone
• How to let someone know gently that something that he or she is doing is not acceptable – exercise grace!
• Improve creativity, how to do things differently
• Make new friends – broaden your network of acquaintances or friends

Arrange for a meeting
• Email your team mates (email address is the matriculation [email protected]) and arrange for time and place to meet (can also provide hp no in email).
• During meeting, exchange mobile phone no and if you check your personal email more often then give that email add to your team.
• Whatsapp group chat for discussions when not at meeting
• Set meeting agenda and set the duration of meeting.
Chairperson and secretary
• Appoint a chairperson and a secretary for this first meeting and subsequent meetings, each member to take turns being chair and secretary. • Role of chairperson: This chair will contact the rest and set meeting agenda
and manage time.
• Role of secretary: take down meeting minutes. At the end of meeting, appoint chairperson and the secretary to take meeting minutes for next meeting. At the end of meeting, secretary to announce to the group all the agenda that have been covered and all members agree to them, any errors of missed points will be edited before meeting ends. When everything is tidied up. Chairperson to submit meeting minutes.
• During this meeting, set expectations for each member and stick to them. Don't be someone who says one thing but does something else. Any dispute refer to meeting minutes. It’s like any dispute of module refer to IVLE.

• Date, time, location, recorded by <name>
• When meeting actually started
• Members’ attendance, time of arrival
• Meeting agenda 1,2.. • Notes on discussion under each agenda
• Meeting schedule end:
• Meeting actual end (member’s departure)
• Post meeting action – action, assigned to, deadline
• Decisions made
• Next meeting • Date, time, location, chairperson and secretary
First meeting minutes for submission
• Also include recent photos and names of group members.
• Can be group photo but please label with names.
• Individual time table schedule
• Try to arrange to meet in person, not online meetings
• Plan schedule for the whole CA
