Green Building is not a topic that will be leaving the realm of construction any time soon.
!
When starting a project, there are a few different things you can do to make sure that your
construction is eco-friendly.

• One of the first things to consider when building is…where you’ll be building
• Avoid plots where your building would be west-facing
• West facing properties have limited daylight sun exposure
• That leads to an increased need for lighting and/or heating

• As green-building and eco-friendly construction gain traction, it is becoming easier to find sustainable building materials
• Look for recycled and repurposed materials like lumber & glass

• Look for the Energy Star label when selecting appliances for your project
• Those appliances have passed EPA standards
• They are (usually) more expensive up front, but save significant costs in the long-term
