Climate change
Global warming
Green House Effect
Effect on Agriculture
Measures to check Global warming
•Climate: “Average Weather of an area or environmental factors of an area”
Includes:-Light, Temperature, Humadity, Wind, Gases, Water etc. which average for about 30 years.
“Changes in Environmental
condition of an area over long period of time”
These Change Effect the
Agriculture.
Migration of animals.
Hydrological cycle.
Wind pattern.
Distribution of rainfall etc.
Changes the temperature by moe than 2°C is disastrous for various ecosystem on the earth including man, some
area will become inhabitable of drought or flood following a rise a average sea level
i. Climate Change
ii. Effect On sea Levels
iii. Reduction Of biodiversity
iv. Effect on Agriculture
v. Effect on human health
vi. Effect ecosystem
vii. Ecological disturbance
There are different views regarding the effect of global warming on agriculture
NEGATIVE Effect
1. Effect of this change will vary for C3(i.e. wheat, rice, and beans) and C4(e.g. maize, millets, and sugarcane) plants.
2. As temperature increases with rising CO2 level, some crops may no longer be grown in certain rigions.
POSITIVE Effect
With increased CO2 concentration some plants will show increased photosynthesis,
Greater Root Production
Plant more trees
Cut down the current rate of CFCs and fossil fuel
Reduce beef production
Shift from coal to natural gas
Efficiently remove CO2 from smoke
Adopt sustainable agriculture
