Forewords 前言

As we approach the second graduation ceremony of Deloitte's "Pass the Torch" programme, my belief that relationships is one of the key ingredients to personal growth has been confirmed. I am happy to see that this programme has played a part in building precious friendships and lifelong memories, and most of all, that it has made a difference in the lives of both our mentees and our mentors.

Congratulations and good luck to our graduating mentees! Please remember, this graduation is not the end; rather, it marks the beginning of a new era in your life. I wish you all a successful future, and that you will pass on your experiences with your fellow students – inspiring them as your mentors have inspired you.

第二屆德勤關愛相傳計劃畢業禮即將到來,讓我更加堅信人與人之間的關係,是個人成長中不可缺少的元素。我很高興看到計劃能建立起難能可貴的友誼和深刻的回憶;更重要的是令導師及同學的生命都增添了色彩。

在此衷心恭賀完成計劃的同學! 計劃的完結不是終點,而是人生下個階段來臨的標誌。祝願各位有美好的將來,亦希望各位能把經驗分享給其他同學,就如導師鼓勵你們一樣激勵他們。

Time flies – it's already the 2nd Graduation Ceremony of Deloitte Pass the Torch Programme. Over the last three years, the experience you have gained from the activities is now deep-rooted in your memories, and becomes the milestone of your growth and development.

Confucius said: "When three men walk together, they are bound to be teachers to each other in one way or another." Through this Programme, you developed mentor-mentee relationships with accountants from Deloitte. Students, you may take this opportunity to learn with humble heart, try to think from different angles, and to be inspired to strive for constant self-improvement.

Lastly, I wish all Deloitte mentors successful career and happy life; and I also wish all the graduates will continue the excellent tradition of the Programme, rouse yourself into action and try your best to create a successful future!

Introduction 簡介

When the students first met their mentors in 2010, they were strangers, not knowing how to act, a little embarrassed. Today, our mentors and mentees sit together, laughing and joking, perfectly comfortable with each other. It's been three years.

The years of F4 - F6 are a critical period for growth – it is when these young people, with minds fresh with knowledge and spirits anxious to be broken free, are most vulnerable to the influences around them. The transition from student life to either further education or the world of work is not easy; what they need is not only a guide but a rock solid support system to catch them when they fall.

It is with this in mind that Deloitte launched the "Pass the Torch" Programme in 2009. Over three years, relationships between employees and students blossom. We aim to empower and motivate students to be the best they can in everything they do; and we believe what shapes people the most is people. As the students turn to the next page in their lives, positive relationships will help them grow to become responsible, conscientious, and empathetic adults – future pillars of our society.

Jokes are easily forgotten, photos might get lost, even memories might eventually fade; but relationships stay. Tonight, we see a joyous scene, but only our mentors and mentees know the hardships, the challenges, the ups and downs they have helped each other go through, and it is precisely what they shared that makes their bond so special, so precious, and definitely everlasting.

學生與導師於2010年初相識的時候,大家都表現得有點陌生,不知從何入手認識對方,難免有點尷尬。但是,如今只要他們一碰面,總是會言談甚歡,樂也融融。不經不覺,已經三年了。

高中三年,學生經歷了人生成長的關鍵階段 - 亦正是這些年輕人剛學習新知識,懷着雄心壯志,希望能够突破人生的時候;亦是最容易受其身邊事物影響的時候。告別中學生涯,無論是選擇繼續升學,或是投入社會工作,都不容易。因此,除指導外,學生更需要強大的後盾支持,在他們受挫跌倒時施以援手。

德勤懷着這份信念,于2009年成立「德勤關愛相傳計劃」。過去三年,德勤員工與學生們漸漸建立真摯友誼。我們旨在幫助及鼓勵學生事事全力以赴,做到最好。而且,我們亦相信人與人之間的互相影響,便是成長過程中最有效的支持。各位畢業生即將要展開人生新一頁,積極正面的關係有助他們成為富責任感、誠實認真、熱心助人的未來社會棟樑。

嬉笑言談可被淡忘,照片可能會遺失,即使記憶也可能會漸漸消失,只有友誼能够長存。今晚,我們看到一幕幕歡樂的場面,然而亦只有導師與學生明白到多年來他們共同經歷的甘與苦,合力克服種種挑戰,互勵互勉。這正正是他們的共同回憶,成為獨一無二的朋友,建立珍貴感情,友誼永固。

About Buddhist Mau Fung Memorial CollegeIn September 1998, Buddhist Mau Fung Memorial College became the 13th secondary school founded by Hong Kong Buddhist Association, serving as a government-aided grammar school. The Association named the School after the 1st Chief Monk of East Putuo Temple, Master Mau Fung, as a memorial for his great virtue.

Our school motto is “to be bright and compassionate”. Therefore, our objectives are to inspire and nurture our students with knowledge and compassion. We encourage our students to never stop learning, which should not be limited to school education. With the most advanced technology, our students can master important learning approaches, tools and contents, which will be useful throughout their entire lives. Furthermore, we also encourage our students to be the active members in community services, and hope to strengthen their sense of belonging to their community and therefore nurture and demonstrate their compassion.
