Un théâtre de faits historiques majeursSite of major historical events
Au coeur de la forêt de Compiègne, c’est dans le wagon n°2419D transformé en bureau, que le Maréchal Foch, généralissime des armées alliées, reçut les plénipotentiaires allemands et leur dicta le texte de l’armistice de 1918 marquant la fin de la Grande Guerre. Le musée de l’Armistice fait peau neuve pour ce 100e anniversaire avec une nouvelle mise en scène interactive.
In the heart of the Compiègne forest, in train car n°2419D turned into an office, Marshal Foch, Supreme Allied Commander, met with the German plenipotentiaries and proclaimed the terms of the 1918 Armistice marking the end of the First World War. For this 100th anniversary the Armistice Museum has been entirely renovated and displays new interactive exhibits.
