    summary

    The play, set in the Kingdom of Denmark,recounts how Prince Hamlet exactsrevenge on his uncle Claudius formurdering the old King Hamlet, Claudius's

    brother and Prince Hamlet's father, andthen succeeding to the throne andmarrying Gertrude, the King Hamlet'swidow and mother of Prince Hamlet.
