The Heart of Healing
Study: Emotions and Heart Disease
Researchers from John Hopkins University in Baltimore have discovered sudden emotional stress can result in severe but reversible heart muscle weakness that mimics a classic heart attack.
It’s called “stress cardiomyopathy”
Ref: The New England Journal of Medicine, 2005;352:539-548
Emotions and Heart Disease
Often misdiagnosed as a massive heart
attack.
Caused by a surge in adrenalin and other
stress hormones that temporarily ―stun‖ the
heart.
Symptoms are similar to a typical heart attack
including chest pain, fluid in the lungs, shortness of breath, and heart failure.
Emotions and Heart Disease
Scientists have found a new link between
emotions and disease — people who are
angry, hostile and depressed have higher
levels of a protein in their blood that has
been associated with heart disease.
Edward Suarez of Duke University - 121
healthy men and women took personality
tests that assessed their levels of anger,
hostility and depression, and then tested
their blood for a substance called C-
reactive protein (CRP).
Emotions and Heart Disease in Women
People who have high levels of CRP are more prone to heart attacks and stroke.
CRP is produced by the liver in response to inflammation in the body.
Higher levels of inflammation are thought to increase the risk for a variety of health problems, including
heart disease
Results: The study subjects who scored high on the tests for anger, hostility and depression had CRP levels two to three times higher than those who scored low

Why are so many of us so INFLAMED?
Repressed feelings and emotions, held back words and thoughts, experiencing loss and abandonment, rejection and hurt, grief, etc.
Body Symbology – what are our bodies trying to tell us?
Not just heart disease – but why all the breast cancer, arthritis, fibromyalgia, diabetes, obesity = all inflammatory diseases
Fear and Heart Disease in Women
Women with phobic anxieties, such as
the fear of crowded places, heights or
going outside are at higher risk for fatal
heart disease than women with fewer or
no anxieties

Anger and Exhaustion
“People who reported being highly prone to anger and also scored high for vital exhaustion were 69 percent more likely to have a heart attack or a sudden cardiac death than their counterparts who reported being less prone to anger and scored low for vital exhaustion."

Presented at t he American Heart Association's Asia

Depressed postmenopausal women
Four-year government study of 93,676 women across the United States.
Found depressed women have a 50 percent greater risk of developing or dying from heart disease than those not depressed

Smiling versus Frowning
Fake it til you Make it!
SMILE FACTS:
It is 2.5 times easier to smile than to frown.
It takes 43 muscles to frown, but only 17 muscles to smile.
Smiling stimulates our nervous system to produce "cerebral morphine". This hormone gives us a pleasant feeling and has an anesthetic effect.
Use Positive Affirmations
I’m Alert, I’m Alive, I Feel Great!
Let Go of the Past, Reach to the Future
The Body Believes Every Word You Tell It
Basic Energetic Principles
Where Thought, Feelings, Emotions and Sensations Go…….Energy Follows………
(If you learn to stop your thoughts - you stop sensations – therefore reducing pain and suffering –learn discernment, to ―discriminate‖ and ―eliminate‖ – save yourself and others from the suffering)
Form Follows Thought – if you are angry, the body will appear angry (hyper-tense, hardening of
the arteries, heart attack) – if you are loving
you will look light and stay young in spirit
Definitions of Coherence
Clarity of thought and emotional balanceThe quality of being orderly, consistent, andintelligible (e.g. a coherent argument)
Synchronization between multiple systemsA constructive waveform produced by two or more waves that are phase-or frequency-locked (e.g. lasers)
Ordered patterning within one systemAn ordered or constructive distribution of power content within a single waveform; autocoherence (e.g. sine wave)
Entrainment
In physiology, the term is used to describe a state in which two or more of the body's oscillatory systems, such as respiration and heart rhythm patterns, become synchronous and operate at the same frequency
The degree of order and stability in the waveform that reflects the rhythmic activity of any given physiological system over a specified period of time

Energy System of the Heart
Heart Chakra is located beneath the breastbone – the thymus is the master gland of the immune system and is located in this area.
The heart chakra is developed between the ages of 6-8 yrs old and deals with feelings of unconditional love, forgiveness and compassion and the opposite feelings such as anger, grief, envy, jealousy, bitterness and resentment
―I hate you – I love you‖
Healing State
Positive Emotional States and the Heart
Love, care, appreciation and compassion the heart produces coherent or smooth rhythms that enhance communication between the heart and brain.
Positive heart qualities produce harmonious rhythms that are considered to be indicators of cardiovascular efficiency and nervous system balance. They've also been shown to produce beneficial effects that include enhanced immunity and hormonal balance.
Energy Medicine
The more control you have over your subtle energy system and emotions – the greater the protection from others who are negative, manipulative, destructive, angry, hostile or violent.
We use terms to describe energy – cling-ons, entity, energy cyst, energy armor,
Energy stagnation
“Lighten-up, wiped-out”
