EPIDEMIOLOGÍA
• Sexta neoplasia más frecuente• Tumor maligno primario más frecuente del hígado (80%)• Aumento de incidencia durante los últimos 20 años (Hepatitis C)• Edad de presentación: Sexta y séptima década• Relación H:M (2:1/6:1)• Tumor altamente letal (sobrevida de 5 años=5%)• 600, 000 muertes al año en todo el mundo

FACTORES DE RIESGO:
• Cirrosis (60-90%)• Infección crónica por virus de Hepatitis B (VHB) y virus de
Hepatitis C (VHC)• Aflatoxina (codon 249 del gen supresor p53) Esteatohepatitis no alcohólica (EHNA)=Obesidad y síndrome
metabólico• Ingesta de alcohol de 50-70 g/día (periodos prolongados)• Otros: tabaquismo, hemocromatosis hereditaria, alfa1-
antitripsina, hepatitis autoinmune, porfirias.

• Hepatocarcinoma Multifocal (multicéntrico): 1. Múltiples nódulos de HCC pequeño 2. Áreas de HCC bien diferenciado en la periferia3. Nódulos de HCC de diferente histología
