HANOI UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) was established in 1956. Over
half century, HUST has been continuously growing and making considerable contributions to
the industrialization and modernization process of the country.
A large number of scientists and highly qualified engineers, who obtained various
academic degrees of Eng., MSc. And PhD. at HUST, have been working effectively in various
political, cultural and social fields and science & technology development throughout the
country. The obvious achievements in training and research undertaken at HUST and their
application to production activities, have contributed significantly to flourishing national
technologies.
Over the last decade, Vietnam has embarked upon a radical and comprehensive process
of economic and social reform. Based on half century of tradition, HUST has been creative
and dynamic in this process, and has become a centre of academic excellence. It will make
more contribution to socio-economic development, industrialization, and modernization of the
country.
The development ofHUST has been linked with strong support from the Government,
great efforts by HUST staff and students from generation to generation, and especially with
wholehearted assistance from international organizations and individuals. Our friends and
colleagues in the world have supported us not only in building up infrastructure and facilitiesbut also in human resource development. Over the years, international cooperation
programmes have brought to the university staff of high academic standards and competence
in training, research, and management activities, which has accelerated the process of
integration ofHUST into the university community within the region, and all over the world.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology is facing with the increasing importance
of and demand for highly qualified scientists and engineers to support Vietnam's
industrialization, following the implementation of economic development plans since 1956. It
is the now first research-oriented science and technology graduate school in Vietnam.
Education and training of highly qualified scientists and engineers equipped withtheoretical and practical expertise.
Participation in mid- to long-term government research projects and basic and appliedresearch for the accumulation of Vietnam's competitiveness in science and technology.
Provision of research platforms to other research institutes and enterprises.Sine its foundation,Hanoi University of Science and Technology is among Vietnams
top university of technology. Over more than a half century of development and growth,

HUST has made remarkable achievements in fostering talents, conducting scientific research
to serve the national development and social progress. The vitally important progress in
scientific research and training has made HUST become increasingly influential and deserved
to be a live model in terms of academic excellence among the countrys higher education
institutions.
HUST is embarking the new era with both great opportunities and harsh challenges
after the first half of a century under continuous construction and growth. The master
planning, construction and development Project for HUST from 2006 to 2030 has been ratified
by the Government. This project is appreciated as a breakthrough for HUST to thrive to
change HUST's look, aiming at achieving the goal of developing HUST into a University of
International standard.
With the motto All HUSTs members are united, dynamic, well prepared and ready for
the university modernization and international integration, it is necessary to promote the
development of the institutional culture, inherit and carry forward excellent traditions.
We determine to make the university an attractive address for industrial investors, a
lifelong home for excellent academic atmosphere and recognized qualification.
