The Conditions Of PrayerThe Conditions Of Prayer

1. RITUAL PURITY: for the statement of theMessenger of Allaah (blessings and peace be upon him):"No prayer is valid for the one who had ritual impurityuntil he makes ablution (Muslim)

2. THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE TIME: the time of the noon prayer is from the sun reaching

its zenith until the shadow of everything becomesequal to it.

the time of the afternoon prayer is from the end ofthe time of noon prayer until the sun turns yellow.Then, the time of preference ends, and the time ofnecessity lasts until the sunset.

the time of the sunset prayer is until the red color ofsunset disappears.

the time of the night prayer is from that time untilmidnight and then the time of necessity until the risingof the second dawn.

the time of the morning prayer is from then untilsunrise.

he who declares Allaahs greatness for the prayer prior

to the end of its time would have caught it. praying at the beginning of the time is better, except for

the night prayer; and noon prayer when its excessivelyhot.

3. COVERING ONE'S NAKEDNESS WITH THATWHICH DOESN'T SHOW THE COMPLEXION:

the nakedness of the man or bondwoman is between

the navel and knees. the entire body of the free woman is considered

nakedness except for the face and hands.

The mother of a child or the one whose part has been

freed is like the bondwoman. Whoever prays in a garment or house that is

wrongfully seized, his prayer will be invalid.

wearing gold or silk is allowable for women and notmen except for a need, for the statement of theMessenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him)regarding gold and silk: "these two are forbidden for the

men of my nation and lawful for the women. the man who prays in one garment, with part of it being

on his shoulders, this would suffice him.

if he didn't find except that which would only cover hisnakedness, he should cover it, and if not enough tocover all of it, he should cover the two private parts,

and if not enough, he must cover one of them, and ifhe had nothing to cover with, he should pray sitting,and must nod for his bowing and prostration. And ifhe prayed standing, it would be permissible.

he who does not find but an impure garment or spot

he may pray in/on them and no makeup is required ofhim.

4. PHYSICAL PURITY OF THE BODY,GARMENT AND PLACE OF PRAYER:

if he prayed with impurity on him that he wasif he prayed with impurity on him that he was

5. FACING THE DIRECTION OF PRAYER: Except

In the optional prayers, on the mount, for the

2. Exaltation of Allaah in the bowing andprostration; once in each.

3. Saying "Allah hears those who praise him and"our lord, all praise be to you; both with risingfrom bowing.

4. Saying "my lord, forgive me between the two

prostrations.5. The first witness.6. And sitting for it.

7. Sending prayers unto the prophet in the lastwitness.

As for these acts, if he omits themintentionally, his prayer becomesinvalidated, and if he does out of

forgetfulness, he should pray theprostrations of forgetfulness for it.
