LIVE THE LITURGY - INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK
As we gather today to reaffirm our faith in the real
presence of Christ in the Eucharist, we are reminded that we are also the Body of Christ. The mission of the Gospel calls us to be Christ for
others. There is so much brokenness and pain in our world. Many people are lost and feeling lonely,
marginalized and oppressed, victimized and abused. Every time we receive the Body (and
Blood) of Christ, we are asked to become what we eat. Are we willing to step aside from our
preoccupations and concerns so that we can be Christ for others?
WHY DO WE DO THAT? -
CATHOLIC LIFE EXPLAINED
Question: What are the "fruits" of holy Communion? Answer: The Eucharist, like all sacraments, offers its own unique grace. We receive a special share in God's life that helps us in our faith journey. We are given all we need to sustain and nurture our relationship with God. The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. Everything we are and everything we hope to become is found in this sacrament. It is essential to the life of the church, to each member of the church. Without it, there is no church. The Eucharist is the center of our spiritual life and has enormous effects on our growth, our holiness, and our way of life. The fruits of holy Communion are the benefits one receives from the sacrament. These fruits of holy Communion are discussed in the catechism in the article on the Eucharist. The primary benefit is union with Christ. We become one with him sacramentally, just as we hope to become one with him for eternity. The Eucharist also separates us from sin, both past and future. It forgives the venial sins of the past and, by the love we receive, protects us from mortal sin in the future. The church community is also unified and strengthened by the Eucharist. It unites us to the poor and offers the pledge of eternal life.

BAPTISMS, PARISH RELIGIOUS EDUCATION,
WEDDINGS & QUINCEAÑERAS
Every parishioner should be registered in our parish. Registration in our parish is a requirement for all individuals seeking sacraments whether it be Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation or Marriage. Only registered parishioners are allowed to celebrate these sacraments and other events like a Quinceañera or Sweet Sixteen Mass. All parishioners need to be registered, using their offertory envelopes, and attending Mass on a regular basis for at least three months before enrolling in our Religious Education Program or seeking any form of religious celebration. Please take a moment to stop by the Parish Office and complete a parish registration information card and schedule yourself to attend our parish Newcomers Orientation & Registration & Meeting! Weddings, Quinceañeras and Birthday
Masses need to be scheduled at least 6 months in advance.
BAUTISMOS, CATECISMO, BODAS & QUINCEAÑERAS
TODO feligrés debe de estar Registrado en nuestra parroquia.
Registración en nuestra parroquia es un requisito para todas las personas que buscan recibir un sacramento, ya sea Bautismo, Primera Comunión, Confirmación o Matrimonio. Sólo los feligreses registrados pueden celebrar estos sacramentos y otros eventos como Quinceañeras o Misa de Dieciséis Años. Todo feligrés debe registrarse, utilizar sus Sobres de Ofertorio y asistir a Misa de forma regular por lo menos tres meses antes de inscribirse en nuestro Programa de Educación Religiosa o búsqueda de cualquier celebración religiosa. Tómese un momento para llegar a la Oficina Parroquial y completar una tarjeta de información de registro y planear asistir a una Junta de Orientación & Registración Parroquial.

Confirmation Preparation Program (Year 1) begins Sept. 13, 2018!
To participate, you must:
• Have completed 8th grade and should be 16 by April1, 2020
• Be interested in becoming a
fully initiated member of the Catholic Church.
• Be available on Thursday night Confirmation sessions from 7-8:30p.m
• Register by August 9th, 2018 and sign up for a fifteen minute Candidate and parent entrance interview between August 1– 23, 4p.m.-7p.m.
• Youth who are attending Catholic High School are to participate in the sessions of immediate catechesis (second year) MONDAY night sessions.
• Youth who were fully initiated through RCIA, may choose to enter into the catechetical process for confirmation in order to deepen their under-standing of their faith and be one with the community of youth seeking confirmation.
