In the 21st century, the transmission of data and messages has growninto an essential and indispensable basic requirement. To facilitatethis perfectly, a reliable and widespread infrastructure of cable networks is needed.

We here at PENGG KABEL have specialised in the manufacture ofthe infrastructure components used in this context. At two productionlocations in Austria, we produce cables (copper telecoms cable, railsignal cable and glass fibre cable) to customer specifications andalso to cover the complete product range of passive glass fibre components for the telecommunications and rail industries with ourin-house production facilities.

We can also provide installation services in respect of copper cablingand glass fibre cable technology. This means we can serve our customers as full-service providers in the cable infrastructure sector.

Auf Basis der Europäischen Bauprodukteverordnung (EU-BauPVO) wurde am 10. Juli 2015 die harmonisierte Europäische Norm EN 50575 im Amtsblatt der EuropäischenUnion veröffentlicht, in der nun die Anforderungen an Kabelnin Bezug auf deren Brandeigenschaften spezifiziert sind.

Seit 1. Juli 2017 dürfen dauerhaft in Bauwerken eingesetzteKabel nunmehr nur noch in Verkehr gebracht werden, wenneine CE-Kennzeichnung angebracht ist. Durch die An-bringung der CE-Kennzeichnung wird bestätigt, dass dasProdukt den produktspezifisch geltenden europäischenRichtlinien entspricht. Je nach anzuwendendem System sindfür die Bewertung und Überprüfung der Leistungs-beständigkeit neben dem Hersteller auch notifizierte Stellenbeteiligt.

Als Hersteller haben wir uns natürlich intensiv mit diesemThema auseinandergesetzt und frühzeitig entsprechendeTypprüfungen durchgeführt.

The harmonised European Norm EN 50575 has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union on the10th of July 2015 based on the European Construction Products Regulations (CPR). It now specifies the requirements of cables with respect to their flammability properties.

Since the 1st of July 2017, cables used in construction forlong-term may henceforth be marketed only if they have a CEmarking. The labelling with the CE marking confirms that theproduct meets the European guidelines applicable to the specific product. Depending on the application system, notified bodies are also consulted in addition to the manufacturer for the evaluation and verification of the reliability of the performance.

As a manufacturer, we have of course looked into the subjectin-depth and have carried out the corresponding type testsearly on.
