“Steal” the Reel ThingLet’s face it. Massage treatment genres are the same everywhere. That luxurious spa treatment you see on television doesn’t necessarily have to come with a bomb. It’s all about knowing where to hunt for affordable generics that gives you the same luxury as a branded retailer. This issue, we bring our readers an effective facial treatment cum relaxing eye treatment by the Bonafides Group Spa for less than $50!

Take Advantage of Promotions to Stay within your BudgetWe all have a budget for everything, especially during times like this. Working within the budget we set for ourselves can prove to be quite a feat when it comes to shopping. Do make full use of any credit card promotions or even cash rebates to help reduce the cost. This way, you get to buy what you want for less! This season, John King Egg Tarts, the Singapore Duck Man and Nippon Entrance Japanese Restaurant are some of the retailers which can help you get more for less.

Make the Exchange Rate Work to Your AdvantageAnother way to work within your budget is to make use of the exchange rate advantage. For the same amount of money, you can purchase greater number of products in another country like Malaysia. For just RM 120 (about S$50), City Lens offers you three boxes of contact lens! That’s an irresistible bargain!

Go for Package DealsRetailers always roll out attractively priced packages to entice people to try their services or products. Take advantage of that. Madam Leong Dish Ke Jia Cai Restaurant is offering unbelievably priced group set meals that starts from RM 18.80! Do look out for other fantastic deals in this issue to help you stretch your shopping dollar.

The overall experience was very rewarding and enjoyable, yet with a soft touch of professionalism on the part of the therapist. However, I was left with a niggling feeling that something was missing at the end, but that was soon answered when I saw a nice hot cup of tea coming towards me and, ending my trip on a perfect note.

dust mites that have been sucked into the filter bag of a vacuum cleaner actually get filtered through the pores of the filter bag, and out into the room again.

Why is a normaldry vacuum cleaner not eective enough to lter the tiny dust particles?

What is “Rainbow” and how does it work?An alternative is to vacuum the floor with a wet vacuum cleaner like the “Rainbow”. It incorporates an ingenious system of using water as a filter to filter all the dust in the air. Air is directed onto the water and impinges on the water. The water then adsorbs the tiny dust particles and releases the air which is dust-free back into the room. In fact this type of vacuum cleaner can also act as an air cleaner if left on for a certain time in the room. Artical By DR HU WEN WEY

suen Wan Pavilion is famous for its roast duck. It is situated at Keong Siak Road, less than 5 minutes walk from Chinatown MRT station. The roast duck come out straight from the stall’s oven. The golden brown skin of the roast duck is irresistibly crispy and its aroma could be smelt from afar. Another tempting item on the menu is the crispy skin roast meat. The serving size is in large chunks, and with the crispy skin resting on the tender meat just makes one asking for more.

Tsuen Wan Pavilion has a recipe of more than 50 years, passed on from its chef

and the chef has been an apprentice in Hong Kong for many years. This explainswhy the chilli they serve isidentical to the chilli servedin Hong Kong restaurants.

As we chat further with Mr. Chua, we came to know that he is actually a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from University of Leeds, UK. “It has always been my passion to cook and I always dream to start a restaurant with my friends during my University days, but my parents didn’t see the link between a graduate engineer and a cook.” He laughed. The opportunity knocked on his door when his friend, who is the chef, approached him with a proposal and the rest is history.

Besides the usual type of roast you can find at a roasted delight stall, Tsuen Wan Pavilion also serve some unique dishes such as beef brisket rice noodles, jindu special sauce noodle, and chicken feet with mushroom noodle. We were spoilt by the size of the portion wanton on the plate of wanton noodle.

Most of the customers ordered a bowl of wanton or dumpling soup to go along with a plate of roast meat rice.

“My vision is to turn Tsuen Wan Pavilion into a chain of restaurants with franchises worldwide in 5 to 10 years time” explained Mr. Chua. He leaves us with a noble advice.

“Dream big and dream hard. You can achieve what you can dream of! Never give up!”
