Hello everyone,“The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not mov’d with concord of sweet sounds, is fi t for treason, stratagems and spoils, the motions of his spirits are dull as night and high affection dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted.” His Majesty the King Rama VI of Thailand once translated this foreign work that’s belonged to an English poet and playwright, William Shakespeare for the Merchant of Venice, a famous theatrical drama. Really, Music can inspire us and elevate our consciousness. Although the trends of music nowadays have changed so much, but the value and purpose of

music is still very clear and that is to create entertainment and nurture our hearts to be kind and soft, hard and heavy, or strong and deep, depending on the emotional response. This volume, we took the whole shooting team to a Rock Pub in Patong with this young lovely model. Yeah, of course, I was so impressed with her super rock styled clothes and hair. People once said ‘Rock Never Die’, but I think different groups of people like different types of music, it only matters if that contemporary music or rock music is well liked by people. Even for me, some songs that I heard on the radio, I could have smashed the radio out of irritation. Well, I supposed that’s not the way to see the world, is it? I got to admit some songs were not made for some of us, but for other groups of people who love that music.My music listening skills have been developed over time. In the past, I could not listen to some types of music, but now I have come to like to listen to it. I hope you know what I mean.We need to learn to accept other people’s opinions and adapt to their ways of thinking. Maybe, it will make us happier.Thank you everyone. Bye, bye.

o matter where I go to travel, there’s one thing that I never

let pass and that is trying the local food of the place I visit. One of the Phuket’s traditions is to get up early in the morning and go out to have a Phuket-style breakfast; Dim-Sum.

Chokechai Dim-Sum shop is situated on Mae Luan Road, just before Phuket Thai Hua School. It has been opened for 16 years. Seeing the shop name, you probably think that Chokechai is the fi rst name of the shop owner. But that is wrong. Mrs. Prapaporn Charoenlarbsukying,

who is the wife of Mr. Boonchit Charoenlarbsukying, told us their story that before they opened the shop, Khun Boonchit asked a monk to give a blessing name, the name that was given was Chokechai. The monk also gave them a suggestion that it would even be even better if Khun Boonchai changes his name to the same and everything will be prosperous. Up until today, having to run the very busy business every day, Khun Boonchai does not have time to go to change his fi rst name.

Still, the name of Chokechai Dim-Sum has been well served the shop’s reputation since its opening.

From their personal observations when visiting their relatives’ Dim-Sum business in the past, the couple later decided to open their own Dim-Sum shop. Since then, their reputation has been well known for the tastes and great service. If you ever visit the place, you will hear Khun Boonchit’s voice welcoming customers to come in, take a seat, and ask if he can be of any help with Dim-Sum menus all day long.

I have to admit that running a business that has something to do with helping to keep the local traditions is not an easy task. Therefore, I always believe that we should have a high regard for them because if there is no such businesses, there will be no local traditions inheritance in the province.

structure, frizzy hair style, and lovely attitude. It has become his unique character that we can remember. Today, we have a chance to get to know him.

Morgan: Sawasdee krab, Khun Boonkerd. Would you please tell us about your road to becoming a musician?Boonkerd: Sawasdee krab, Khun Morgan. After the graduation, I worked as a public offi cer. However, because I love music so much, I decided to resign and work as a musician. At the time, I was fortunate enough to be able to play with famous musicians of Thailand in Bangkok. Morgan: How come later on you have decided to come to Phuket?Boonkerd: A friend of mine persuaded me to come and play music for hotels in Phuket as there are many tourists and they pay very well.

I can play many different types of music, anyway. Also, being able to speak English, I can help entertaining customers. (laughing)Morgan: How did you come to play music at Timber Hut?Boonkerd: I have to thank Khun Dong Chakra, really. In the past, we were thinking about setting up a band and play music at pubs. We let him play the guitar and be the lead singer. From then on, we play music there since it was fi rst opened.Morgan: Now, talking about your unique characteristics that you like to greet customers, get to know them, and be so friendly to them, would you mind telling us how you can remember all the customers’ names?Boonkerd: (laughing) No, not really, Khun Morgan. Sometimes I have to confess that I cannot remember them all. But I’ll always try; soon I will remember their names, particularly those

who come here very often.Morgan: From my observation, when you play music, you look so happy that customers in the pub also conform it to you and enjoy listening to your music.Boonkerd: That’s right. It is also my happiness that the listeners enjoy the music we play from our heart. I believe I am not a superstar, I would prefer being an entertainer. Playing music in a way that we could extend loving kindness to all, just like Laem Morrison once said it. (laughing) Morgan: Do you still play music?Boonkerd: Yes, I do. I still have to look after my father and my mother. Malaysia is a country that at-tracts a number

of tourists from Thailand with its tourist attrac-

tions both natural and man-made; all of which are very impressive.

To get to the Cameron Highlands, you can catch a plane from Kuala Lumpur or you can catch a coach bus from Sadao Checkpoint at HadYai and it will take about 5 hours. Along the way, there are some tourist attractions, for ex-ample, temples. The road leading to Cameron Highlands is very steep and curvy, however, it is considered safe because of the good road infra-structure. Why not enjoying the lovely scenery along the way, soon you will get there!

The weather can be from fresh to very chilly, this is because this town is situated high above the sea level about 1,000 meters. Therefore, this place is very good for growing cool-weather fruits and vegetables which are sold throughout Malaysia. Is there actually a coffee shop in a clothing boutique shop? Yes, there is. The Circle Coffee Boutique is the

very fi rst coffee shop in a clothing boutique shop concept in Phuket that belongs to P’Tah - Khattiya Wuttipan. Because she loves doing what she does, a coffee drinker and an owner to a more than 10 years clothing and accessories line. That idea led her to initiate her own shop by bringing together her clothing and jewelry accessories line and coffee, rolled into one.

The shop has not been opened for too long, but there have always been customers coming in and out all the time both casual and frequent visitors, Thais and foreigners. That’s because of the outstanding decoration in a vintage style with white and clean tone, which makes the place just simply relaxing.
