Course Synopsis & Methodology: Globally the service industries are growing rapidly both in terms ofthe nature of the experiences they are delivering as well as their reach into all areas of national and global economies. Even those industries who might be seen largely as concerned with manufacturing now have significant service operation. This trend known as servitisation or service intensification has raised the profile of service design and delivery to an ever increasing level of importance in all sectors of commerce and society. In order to respond to rapidly emerging ideas and concepts in service innovation the program is designed to provide graduates with a position of advantage in dealing with the opportunities and challenges being presented by the creation of the ASEAN Economic Community 2015. The MSI Program is structured around a set of creative thinking and problem solving skills and knowledge for a range of different organizations and sectors with a strong emphasis on sustainable, inclusive and responsible develo ment. • International • Regional •. It aims to produce graduates who are comfortable with creative problem-solving as well as practicaland tangible out-of-the-box thinking. Sustainability and responsibility are crosscutting themethroughout the program designed to ensure that graduates are well aware of the important role that theservice industries must play in sustainable development.

The programs learning model clearly recognizes that innovation and creativity can only be encouragedand supported by a learning environment that stresses independent thinking, problem-based learningproblem, case studies, local and international field trips, the involvement of a range of academics andpractitioners in the learning process and is an encouragement to develop solutions and approaches thatare clearly out of the box. All students are required to complete a thesis or an independent study. Thesmall size of the program allows for a personalized approach that allows all students to reach their fullpotential.

Qualifications:To be eligible for admission to the Master of Science in Service Innovation, an applicant must:• Hold a Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in any field.• Pass an English Language Proficiency Test from one of the fo\lowing:

TOEFL: 500IELTS : 5.0TU-GET (Thammasat Test) : 500

• At least 2 years of working experience in service industry• Very good written and spoken English proficiency.

Successful candidates for admission must pass a selection process including a written examination, anEnglish test, and an interview.

Document Required:1. 3 photographs ( 1 inch-size)2. English test result (TOEFL, IELTS, or TU-GET)3. 2 Recommendations (form attached)4. Health certificate

Terms and Conditions for Scholarships1. Applicants who are awarded the scholarships will be required to pursue the Plan A study (thesis)

option.2. Scholarships cover for the study period of2 years. Applicants who are awarded the scholarships

must complete their studies within 2 years.3. Applicants who are awarded the scholarships will be required to function as student assistants for

40 hours per month to assist the College in meeting its overall mandate. Specific duties andresponsibilities will be assigned by Program Directors or the College's Administrators.

APPLICATION & SELECTION PROCEDURES

Applicants wishing to apply for the Thai International Postgraduate Programme mustbe nominated by their respective governments. They should complete the TICA applicationform (available from Royal Thai Embassies and Royal Thai Consulates) and submit it to theRoyal Thai Embassy or Consulate in their home country. The forms will then beforwarded to TICA for screening. The selection results will be released to the respectivegovernments in April 2013. Applicants should contact their government's focal agencies forthe list of awardees.

Applications should:• be made on TICA's Scholarship Application Form;• be typed;

• be endorsed by the applicant's working agency and government;• be forwarded to TICA through the Royal Thai Embassy in the applicant's country;• include medical examination forms that have been completed by a certified medical

practitioner;• include copies of degree certificate and transcripts (mark sheets) of the applicant's

studies in English;• include copies of English language certificate (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS);• be submitted along with the additional requirements of each course.

Please be advised that if the awardees want to focus their research on the specific issue oftheir countries, they are encouraged to bring with them data from their home countries, sincepreparation of a thesis research begins early in the course. Thesis proposal will be developedthroughout the first year.

ALLOWANCES & EXPENSESThe following costs will be borne by the Royal Thai Government and administered by

Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA):• A round-trip air ticket"• A settlement allowance and a monthly living allowance in Thai Baht• Accommodation for the duration of the awardee's stay in Thailand• Tuition and supplementary fees <Supported by CITU)• Life and health insurance***An economy class air ticket from an appropriate international airport to Bangkok will beissued to each awardee by a representative of Thai Airways International, or through theNational Airline Office in the awardee's country.A return air ticket will be issued and provided to each awardee before their course ends.Should the awardees buy the air tickets by themselves, without TICA's specialinstruction, they are not eligible to reimburse its expenses from the Royal ThaiGovernment.** Health services relating to pregnancy, mental illness, dental treatment, glasses and anykind of sickness that happened before awardee arrive Thailand are not covered by thehealth insurance provided by the Royal Thai Government.
