The Torah Centers of Kollel Chatzos:

It’s a big problem, a site where hard-earned money has been poured down the drain and where many fellow Jews have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in property and suffered much anguish. The topic, of course, is “commercial storage rentals”, where so many of our brethren, living without an inch of extra space, find themselves leasing units to house their precious goods.

Recently, a father of a bride months before her wedding found himself in a predicament. He had been storing his daughter’s clothing and home furnishings in a rental unit until an apartment was obtained for the future couple. But after losing his job and falling behind in payments to the storage company, they seized his rental space from one day the next. To top it all off, they confiscated the possessions in the unit to pay off his overdue balance!

He found himself weeks before the wedding, without work, struggling to pay for the wedding and now this tragedy! “How will I be able to marry off my daughter when most of her possessions are gone?” He decided to sign on as a partner to “Kollel Chatzos” to be able to benefit from its many

merits and effects.

His name was mentioned each night during learning and praying, as well as when the holy “Ketorahs Segulahs” were read and we just received this message: “Distinguished kollel learners! It is now after the wedding and b”H everything went off without a hitch. The newlyweds’ belongings have been replaced and the wedding was celebrated in grand style. I have no doubt it was through the great influence that “Chatzos” has up above!

Mouth-watering flower themed dessert! Ingredients:• 1 pint vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt• 1 1/2 cups strawberries or peaches, chopped (optional)• 1/3 cup butter, softened• 1/3 cup granulated sugar• 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar• 1-1/2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder• 1/4 tsp baking powder• 1 egg• 1/2 tsp vanilla• 1-1/2 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled slightly• 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour• Colored sugar crystals

Directions:1. Leave ice cream or frozen yogurt stand for 15 minutes to soften. 2. Stir in fresh chopped fruit, (optional) and spread mixture evenly in a 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Cover and freeze until firm.3. Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Beat butter in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer on high speed for 30 seconds. Beat in granulated sugar, brown sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder and baking powder until just combined. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined. Stir in melted chocolate. Beat in as much of the flour as possible and stir in any remaining flour.4. Divide dough in half. Roll each portion of dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut with a 3-1/2-inch decorative cookie cutter. Cut out centers with a 3/4-inch decorative cookie cutter, if desired. Recipe yields a total of sixteen 3-1/2-inch cookies. Place cutouts on un-greased baking sheets. Brush cookie tops with water and sprinkle with colored sugar crystals, if desired. 5. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are firm. Cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool completely.6. To assemble, let ice cream or frozen yogurt stand for 5 minutes to slightly soften. Cut with

the same 3-1/2-inch cookie cutter used for the cookies (will have 8 cutouts). Set out 8 of the cookies with the “wrong” side up. Place an ice cream cutout on top of each cookie and top with a second cookie, pressing slightly to seal to the ice cream.7. Wrap each ice cream sandwich individually in plastic wrap; freeze at least 2 hours. 8. Let stand at room temperature for 5 minutes before serving.

Yields: 8 sandwiches

NOTE:To use an easier method, do not spread ice cream in pan. Refreeze after stirring in fruit until firm yet able to spread. Spread about 3 tablespoons of the ice cream on half the cookies and top with remaining cookies and press together.

This is totally false. The truth is we all want immediate results. We live in a “fast-food world.” However, when it comes to supplements, a little bit of patience can often go a very long way.

You can typically estimate a working time-frame by looking at the related clinical research. What

you’re looking for in any given study is “how long did supplement x take to produce a desired effect?”

If it took three months in the study, then that’s what you should aim for — although everybody is different and shouldn’t necessarily expect the same results.

Myth 4: Supplements Hurt Liver and Kidney Function“If you take a lot of supplements, you’ll ruin your liver and kidney function.”

This couldn’t be any further from the truth. In actuality, many supplements will enhance kidney and liver function, not harm it.

Myth 5: All Supplements are Created Equal“All supplement products are

the same; it doesn’t matter where you buy them.”

False! To make a good quality supplement you need three things … and not every company delivers them.

If you’re looking for a high quality supplement product, do your research. With time, you’ll notice that all companies are certainly NOT the same.

In 2008, Swiss watchmaker Romain Jerome launched the “Day&Night” watch. The watch doesn’t tell time in the traditional sense. There is no minute or hour hand. Instead it simply tells the wearer whether it is day or night. Apparently, the watch wearers cannot tell that by themselves.

The Day&Night watch features two tourbillions—devices that overcome the ill effects of gravity on a watch’s accuracy. The day one works for 12 hours during daylight. This symbolizes when an individual is working. The night tourbillion then takes over for the next 12 hours to represent the dark, individual time hours.

The watch is made with steel taken from the sunken Titanic and with parts taken from the shipyard where the doomed ship was built. This watch that doesn’t tell time sold for $300,000 and the makers reasoned that anyone could make a watch that tells time in the traditional sense. This watch, however, represents the luxury of time and not being able to buy it.
