Mode Of Address

Mode of address - Mode of address is how media shouts at the audience. For example how music magazines are presented to the audience.

There are four main types of modes. In class I learnt about ‘1st person’ this can be used in a diary because your talking about yourself as in ‘I and Me’.

As well as ‘3rd person’ where this can be used as a narrative.

What Is Mode Of Address

I also learnt about ‘Formal and Informal’ modes. For example formal may be presented in a classical music magazine or in a letter ‘Yours faithfully’ or ‘Yours sincerely’

There are also features that represent informal text in different ways, for example;

Colloquial Language – This can being interpreted as ‘slang’ or words that may be abbreviated. ‘................’

And Expletive Language - This comes across as informal as it is known for 'swearing'.

This shows that its informal as its a form of ‘expletive language’ because she’s putting her middle finger up to the audience. This is a form of swearing.

The way she is dressed is also informal as the title ‘Bad Girl For Life!’ fits with the image.

Pink uses the word ‘feminist ’ which is formal than informal

Pink quotes “We live in a mindless consumer culture. And its such a wasted opportunity” The quote is very intelligent and intellectual

Throughout the interview Pinks choice of words are presented in a formal way, which has a contrast with the picture and background image which is portrayed in an informal way.

The interview was in 1st person as the interview is about her and she refers back to herself as in ‘I’ quite often.
