    Product quality We are specialized in molds for the produc-tion of long, slender and thin-walled products with directly cooled cores and contour inserts.     出色的热流道技术 The unique construction of the Tanner hot runner system offers unparalleled leak-proof performance and seamless integration in our system solutions. We have manufactured outstanding products and set standards in multi-cavity hot runner molds for the processing of classic bulk plastics for more than 40 years.

    Leak-proof design The design of the Tanner hot runner system is fundamentally different than most other systems. Our hot runner system is virtually leak-proof, which means that the possibility of molten plastic leaking into the hollow spaces and electrical connections has been effectively eliminated. This helps you avoid costly leak-related produc-tion downtimes and clogged hot runner manifolds.

    Since 1970 Tanner hot runner technology has been success-fully used in industrial applications and developed in colla-boration with our customers since 1970.

    Edge-gating Tanner hot runner systems have featured edge- gate injection technology right from the beginning. These systems are designed to provide an ideal basis for achieving the best molding quality and appearance. Our technology enables hot runner solutions in many applications.

    “Can we shorten the cycle time even further?”

    The task A U.S.-based customer called to inquire whether it would be possible for us to shorten the cycle time for a new mold even further. The task: the new mold had to fit into the existing system while increasing the rate of production and ensuring the production of parts with the same high quality.

    Solution We analyzed the existing mold concept with an eye to new technologies and materials and found a solution in the form of an optimized cooling system. Through the successful use of cutting-edge production technologies, we achieved something that had previously been impossible: enhanced cooling in the area of the core tip. The newly designed cooling channel led to a cycle time that was around 0.5 seconds short-er than that offered by the previous solution. This enabled our customer to increase the rate of production on the optimized system without sacrificing the quality of the product. The new mold now offers a 10 percent increase in output – day in and day out.

    Conclusion Just like in sports, winning in the field of indus- trial applications and cutting-edge technology is sometimes a matter of mere tenths of a second. You can count on us when your goal is to finish in first place.

    The task A customer in Asia complained about the repeated jamming of unscrewing cores during the production of syringe barrels with Luer-lock threads. After just three months of operation, the unscrewing mechanism in the existing mold showed signs of wear. The frequent production downtimes and the high costs for replacement parts had made the purchase of a new mold unavoidable.

    Solution The cause of the problem in molds for syringe bar-rels with Luer-lock threads is well-known: a poorly designed unscrewing mechanism. When the thermal expansion of the part is not sufficiently taken into consideration, it quickly leads to warping and tension when the system is in con-tinuous operation, resulting in a jamming of the unscrewing cores. The solution is an unscrewing mechanism that has been engineered for tension-free operation. As simple as the solution sounds, arriving at it requires a solid understanding of the mechanical processes involved and considerable ex-perience. We have specialized in edge-gate technology for Luer-lock threads for many years and were able to offer our customer a solution that eliminated the unscrewing core jamming. Our mold has since been in operation for years. It keeps running and running.

    Conclusion Not every mold performs the way it is supposed to perform. And knowledge alone is not enough to find the right solution. Indeed, experience often makes the difference. Choose Tanner – at best, from the very beginning.

    The task Our task consisted of replacing defective slide in-jection molds used in the production of protective sleeves made of PET. Due to the high injection pressure of 2,000 bar, the often-repaired molds were susceptible to slide cracks that led to flash development on the molded parts because of an overloaded slide closing system.

    Solution To enable the components to lastingly withstand the high injection pressure levels, we developed a mold concept with what appeared at first glance to be an uncon-ventional solution: a nozzle-side slide arrangement. The heavy-duty construction enables an extremely rigid and durable closing mechanism. The pilot mold we delivered passed the test: production-process reliability, no need for repairs and consistently high product quality. Our customer has replaced his entire line of molds with new Tanner molds of the same series.

    Product Optimization Tanner offers a wide range of hot- runner, pre-production molds. These molds enable the cost-effective production of product samples. Specific design variations can then be tested under “production conditions” before being optimized for serial production.

    Tool Optimization The Tanner production facility is outfitted with all of the injection molding machines that are necessary to guarantee comprehensive mold optimization before the se-rial production stage. The expanded range of Tanner services includes the precision measurement of samples from previous series, as well as factory acceptance testing (FAT).

    Mold Maintenance Careful mold maintenance is the key to high performance production and continuously outstanding production quality. Moreover, even after many millions of shots, it can still be a very smart investment to have your Tanner mold overhauled.
