1. License:
The software (including all its accompanyingfeatures and services), and softwaredocumentation, (including any product
packaging) (the Documentation), thataccompanies this License Agreement(collectively the Software) is the propertyof Symantec or its licensors, andis protectedby copyright law. Although Symanteccontinues to own the Software, after Youracceptance of this License Agreement Youwill have certain rights to use the Softwareduring the Service Period. The Service
Period shall begin onthe date of Your initialinstallation of a copy of the Software,regardless of the number of copies of theSoftware that you are permitted to use inaccordance with Section 1.A of this LicenseAgreement, and shall last for the period oftime set forth in the Documentation or theapplicable transaction documentation fromthe authorized distributor or reseller fromwhich You obtained the Software. TheSoftware may automatically deactivate andbecome non-operational at the end of theService Period, and You will not be entitledto receive any feature or content updates tothe Software unless the Service Period isrenewed. Subscriptions for renewals of theService Periodwill be availablein accordancewith Symantecs support policy posted at:

This License Agreement governs anyreleases,revisions,updates or enhancements
to the Software that Symantec may makeavailable to You. Except as may be modifiedby the Documentation, and subject toSymantecs right to terminate for Yourbreach pursuant to Section 11, Your rightsand obligations under this LicenseAgreement with respect to the use of thisSoftware are as follows.
During the Service Period, You
may:A. use one copy of the Software on a singlecomputer. If a greater number of copiesand/or number of computers is specifiedwithin the Documentation or the applicabletransaction documentation from theauthorized distributor or reseller from whichYou obtained the Software, You may use the

Software in accordance with suchspecifications;
B.make one copy of the Software for back-up
or archival purposes, or copy the Softwareonto the hard disk of Your computer andretain the original for back-up or archivalpurposes;
C. use the Software on a network, providedthatYou have a licensedcopyof the Softwarefor each computer that can access theSoftware over that network; and
D. permanently transfer all of Your rights inthe Software granted under this License
Agreement to another person or entity,provided that You retain no copies of theSoftware and the transferee agrees to theterms of this License Agreement. Partialtransfer of Your rights under this LicenseAgreement shall not be permitted. Forexample, if the applicable documentationgrants You the right to use multiple copiesof the Software, only a transfer of the rightsto use all such copies of the Software wouldbe valid.
You may not, nor may you permitany other person to:
A. sublicense, rentor lease any portion of theSoftware;
B. reverse engineer, decompile,disassemble,modify, translate, make any attempt todiscover the source code of the Software orcreate derivative works from the Software;
C. use the Software as part of a facilitymanagement, timesharing, service provideror service bureau arrangement; or
D.use the Software in any mannerthat is notpermitted pursuant to this LicenseAgreement.
2. Software Feature and ContentUpdates:
A. You shall have the right to receive new
features to the Software as Symantec, in itssolediscretion, makes suchfeaturesavailablewith the Software during Your ServicePeriod. Symantec continually strives toimprove theusabilityandperformance of itsproducts and services. In order to optimizetheSoftware Symantec may, at itsdiscretionand without notice, add, modify or removefeatures from the Software at any time.
B. Certain software uses content that isupdated from time to time, including but notlimited to the following software: antivirus
and crimeware software use updated virusdefinitions; antispyware software usesupdated spyware definitions; antispamsoftware uses updated antispam rules;content filtering and antiphishing softwareuseupdated URLlists;some firewall softwareuse updated firewall rules; vulnerabilityassessment products use updatedvulnerability data and web siteauthentication software uses updated listsof authenticated web pages; these updatesare collectively referred to as Content
Updates (or alternatively referred to asProtection Updates or Security Updatesat times). You shall have the right to receiveContent Updates for the Software duringYour Service Period.
3. Product Installation; RequiredActivation:
A. During the installation process, theSoftware may uninstall or disable other
security products, or features thereof, if suchproducts or features are incompatible withthe Software or for purposes of improvingthe overall functionality of the Software.
B. There may be technological measures inthis Software that are designed to preventunlicensed or illegal use of theSoftware.Youagree that Symantec mayusethese measuresto protect Symantec against softwarepiracy.This Software may contain enforcementtechnology that limits the ability to install
and uninstall the Software on a computer tonot more than a finite number of times for afinite number of computers. This LicenseAgreement and the Software containingenforcement technology may requireactivation as further set forth in theDocumentation. If so, the Software will onlyoperate for a finite period of time prior toSoftware activation by You. Duringactivation, You may be required to provideYour unique activation code accompanying
the Software and computer configuration inthe form of an alphanumeric code over theInternet to verify the authenticity of theSoftware. If You do not complete theactivation withinthefinite periodof time setforth in the Documentation, or as promptedby the Software, the Software will cease tofunction until activation is complete; atwhich time the Software functionality willbe restored. In the event that You are not

able to activate the Software over theInternet, or through any other methodspecified during the activation process, You
may contact Symantec Customer Supportusing theinformationprovided by Symantecduring activation, or as set forth below.
4. Online Backup Feature:
The Software includes an online backupfeature, which provides the capability tostore and retrieve Your files on Symantecssystem via the Internet during the ServicePeriod (Online Backup Feature), subject tothe amount of online backup space providedwith Your Software and/or which Youadditionally purchase. If You choose to usethe Online Backup Feature, You mustcomplete the activation process within theSoftware for such feature. In the event thatYou install a newer version of the Softwareduring Your Service Period, You may berequired to reactivate the Online BackupFeature using theoriginal email address Youprovidedduring the initial activationprocess.
A. Norton Account. A current SymantecNorton Account (Norton Account) isrequired to accessanduse theOnline BackupFeature. If you do not have a NortonAccount,You must complete the applicableregistration process to create a NortonAccount in order to use the Online BackupFeature. You are entirely responsible formaintaining the confidentiality of YourNorton Account password.
B. Communication Connections; OnlineBackup Feature Availability. You are solelyresponsible for acquiring and maintainingthe Internet or telecommunications servicesanddevicesrequired to access and/or usetheOnline Backup Feature. The Online BackupFeature is provided asis and as availableand Symantec shall not be liable for anydowntime of the Online Backup Feature dueto reasonable scheduled maintenance,maintenance for critical issues or forcesbeyond the reasonable control of Symantec.
C. User Conduct and Responsibility;Compliance with Applicable Laws. Useof theOnline Backup Feature (including thetransmissionof any data You choose to storethrough the Online Backup Feature (Data))is subject to all applicable local, state,national and international laws andregulations, including but not limited to theUnited States export laws. You agree tocomply with such applicable laws and
regulations and with the specificationsdescribed in the Documentation or theapplicable transaction documentation from
the authorized reseller from which Youobtained the Software and not to (a) use theOnline Backup Feature for illegal purposes,(b) transmit or store material that mayinfringe the intellectual property rights orother rights of third parties or that is illegal,tortious, defamatory, libelous, or invasive ofanother's privacy; ) transmit or store databelonging to another party without firstobtaining all consents required by law fromthe data owner for transmission of the datato Symantec for storage within the United
States; (d) transmit any material thatcontains software viruses or other harmfulcomputer code, files or programs such astrojan horses, worms or time bombs; (e)interfere with or disrupt servers or networksconnected to the Online Backup Feature; or(f) attempt to gain unauthorized access tothe Online Backup Feature, the accounts ofother Online Backup Feature users, orcomputer systems or networks connected tothe Online Backup Feature.
The foregoing obligations regarding use ofthe Online Backup Feature apply to all useof the Online Backup Feature in connectionwith Your Norton Account. You are solelyresponsible for the use of the Online BackupFeature, and the Data transmitted or storedthrough the Online Backup Feature, inconnection with Your Norton Account.
D.Indemnification. To themaximum amountpermissible under applicable law, You shallindemnify and hold Symantec, its parents,
subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors,employees and agents harmless from andagainst any third party claims, demands,costs, damages, losses, liabilities andexpenses, including reasonable attorneys'fees, made by any third party arising out ofor in connection with use of the OnlineBackup Feature through Your NortonAccount, including but notlimitedto liabilityarising out of or in connection with the Datatransmitted or stored through the Online
Backup Feature in connection with YourNorton Account.
E. Termination; Suspension. Your right touse the Online Backup Feature shallterminate upon expiration of the ServicePeriod.In addition, Symantec may, at itssolediscretion, immediatelysuspendor terminateuse of the Online Backup Feature during theService Period for Your failure to or

Symantecs reasonable belief that You havefailed to comply with these terms andconditions or any other misuse of the Online
Backup Feature. Following the expiration ortermination of the Service Period:
Data stored to the online backup spaceprovided with Your Software will be at riskof being purged;
Symantec shall not be obligated to maintainsuch Data, forward such Data to You or athird party, or migrate such Data to anotherbackup service or account; and
You will not be able to store Data to any
additional backup space that you may havepurchased separately unless and until theService Period is renewed.
F. Miscellaneous. Symantec hasno obligationto monitor use of the Online Backup Featureand/or Data transmitted or stored throughtheOnline BackupFeature. To themaximumextent permissible under applicable law andnotwithstanding the provisions of the thirdparagraph of section 6 below, Symantecreserves the right at all times to monitor,
review, retain and/or disclose any Data orother information as necessary to satisfy anyapplicable law, regulation, legal process orgovernmental request, or to investigate anyuse or suspected breach of this LicenseAgreement.
5. Technical Support:
In connection with Your use of the SoftwareYou may choose to access certain technical
support features that may be offered fromwithin the Software, which may include livechat with a technical support agent and/orassistance from a technical support agentvia remote computer access (any suchtechnical support offered from within theSoftware shall be referred to in this LicenseAgreement as theTechnical Support). Anysuch Technical Support shall be provided inSymantecs sole discretion without anyguarantee or warranty of any kind. It is solelyYour responsibility to complete a backup of
allYour existing data, softwareandprogramsbefore receiving any Technical Support. Inthe course of providing the TechnicalSupport, Symantec may determine that thetechnical issue is beyond the scope of theTechnical Support. Symantec reserves theright to refuse, suspend or terminate any ofthe Technical Support in its sole discretion.
6. Privacy; Data Protection:
From time to time, the Software may collect
certain information from the computer onwhich it is installed, which may include:
Information on potential security risks aswell as URLs of websites visited that theSoftware deems potentially fraudulent. TheURLs could contain personally identifiableinformation that a potentially fraudulentwebsite is attempting to obtain without Yourpermission. This information is collected bySymantec for the purpose of delivering thefunctionalities of the software, and also for
evaluating and improving the ability ofSymantecs products to detect maliciousbehavior,potentially fraudulent websitesandother Internet security risks.
URLs of websites visited as well as searchkeywords and search results only if theNorton Safe Web feature is enabled. Thisinformation is collectedby Symantec forthepurpose of providing protection and ofevaluating and advising You regardingpotential threats and risks that may be
associated with a particular Web site beforeYou view it.
Executable files that are identified aspotential malware, including informationonthe actions taken by such files at the time ofinstallation. These files are submitted toSymantec using the Softwares automaticsubmission function.Thecollected files couldcontain personally identifiable informationthat has been obtained by the malwarewithout Your permission. Files of this type
are being collected by Symantec only for thepurpose of improving the ability ofSymantecs products to detect maliciousbehavior. Such automatic submissionfunctionmaybe deactivatedafter installationby following the instructions in theDocumentation for applicable products.
The name given to the computer during theinitial setup of the operating system. Ifcollected, thename will be used by Symantecas an account name for the computer under
which You may elect to receive additionalservices and/or under which You may usecertain features of the Software. You maychange such account name at any time afterinstallation of the Software (recommended).
Status information regarding installationand operation of the Software. Thisinformation indicates to Symantec whetherinstallationof the Software wassuccessfully

completed as well as whether the Softwarehas encountered an error. The statusinformation could contain personally
identifiable information only if suchinformation is included in the name of thefile or folder encountered by the Software atthe time of installation or error. The statusinformation is collectedby Symantec for thepurpose of evaluating and improvingSymantecs product performance andinstallation success rate. Symantec mayalsouse this information to optimize itsweb-pages.
Information contained in email messages
that you send through the Software toSymantec to reportasspam or asincorrectlyidentified as spam. These email messagesmay contain personally identifiableinformation and will be sent to Symanteconly with your permission, and will not besent automatically. If you send suchmessages to Symantec, Symantec will usethem only for the purpose of improving thedetection ability of Symantecs antispamtechnology.
Information contained in a report that Youmay choose to sendto Symantec through the
Software when the Software encounters aproblem. The report includes informationregarding the status ofboth the SoftwareandYour computer at the time that the Softwareencountered the problem. The statusinformation about Your computer mayinclude the system language, country locale,and the operating system version for Yourcomputer, as well as the processes running,their status and performance information,
and data from files or folders that were openat the time the Software encountered theproblem. The information could containpersonally identifiable information if suchinformation is included in, or is a part of thename of the files or folders open at the timethe Software encountered the problem. Thisinformation will be sent to Symantec onlywith Your permission, and will not be sentautomatically. The information is collectedby Symantec for the purpose of correcting
the encountered problem and improvingSymantecs product performance.
The Internet Protocol (IP) address and/orMedia AccessControl (MAC) address andtheMachine ID of the computer on which theSoftware is installed to enable the Softwareto function and for license administrationpurposes.
Other general, statistical information usedfor product analysis, and for improvingproduct functionality.
Unless it is expressly defined as optional, thecollected information as set out above isnecessaryforthepurpose of thefunctionalityof Symantecs products.
Information may be transferred to theSymantec group in the United States or othercountries that may have less protective dataprotection laws than theregion in which Youare situated (including the European Union)and may be accessible by Symantecemployees or contractors exclusively to be
used in accordance with the purposesdescribed above. For the same purposes theinformation may be shared with partnersand vendors that process information onbehalf of Symantec. Symantec has takensteps so that the collected information, iftransferred, receives an adequate level ofprotection.
Subjectto applicable laws,Symantecreservesthe right to cooperate with any legal processand any law enforcement or other
government inquiry related to your use ofthis Software. This means that Symantecmay provide documents and informationrelevant to a court subpoena or to a lawenforcement or other governmentinvestigation. In orderto promote awareness,detectionandpreventionof Internet securityrisks, Symantec may share certaininformation with research organizationsandother security software vendors. Symantecmay also use statistics derived from the
information to track and publish reports onsecurity risk trends. By using the Software,You acknowledge and agree that Symantecmay collect, transmit, store, disclose andanalyze such information forthese purposes.
In addition, any Data that you transmit orstore through theOnline Backup Feature willbe transferred to and stored in serverslocated in countries that may have lessprotective data protection laws than thecountry in which You are located (including
without limitation the United States). Theseservers are owned and maintained by a thirdparty processor which Symantec hasrequired by contract to safeguardYour Data.If you have any questions about how yourData is being handled, please contactSymantec CustomerServiceusing thecontactdetails in Section 12.

7. Sixty (60) Day Money BackGuarantee:
If You are the original licensee of this copyof the Software and are not completelysatisfied with it for any reason, please makeno further use of the Software and contactSymantec Customer Service, using thecontact details set out in Section 12 of thisLicense Agreement, for a refund of themoney You paid for the Software (lessshipping, handling,andanyapplicable taxesexcept in certain states and countries whereshipping, handlingand taxes are refundable)at any time during the sixty (60) day periodfollowing the date of purchase.
8. Limited Warranty:
Symantec warrants that any mediamanufactured by Symantec on which theSoftware is distributed will be free fromdefects for a period of sixty (60) days fromthe date of delivery of the Software to You.Your sole remedy in the event of a breach ofthis warranty will be that Symantec will, at
its option, replace any defective mediareturned to Symantec within the warrantyperiod or refund the money You paid for theSoftware. Symantec does not warrant thattheSoftware will meet Your requirementsorthat operation of the Software will beuninterrupted or that the Software will beerror-free. For the avoidance of doubt,references to Software in the foregoingsentence shall include, but not be limited to,the Online Backup Feature and Technical
Support.TOTHEMAXIMUMEXTENTPERMITTEDBYAPPLICABLELAW,THEABOVEWARRANTYISEXCLUSIVEAND INLIEUOFALLOTHERWARRANTIES,WHETHEREXPRESSOR IMPLIED, INCLUDINGTHEIMPLIEDWARRANTIESOFMERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FORAPARTICULARPURPOSE,ANDNON-INFRINGEMENTOFINTELLECTUALPROPERTYRIGHTS. THISWARRANTY
GIVESYOUSPECIFICLEGALRIGHTS.YOUMAYHAVEOTHERRIGHTS,WHICHVARYFROMSTATETOSTATEANDCOUNTRYTOCOUNTRY.

10. U.S. Government RestrictedRights:
For U.S. Government procurements, theSoftware is deemed to be commercialcomputer software as defined in FAR 12.212and subject to restricted rights as defined inFAR Section 52.227-19 "Commercial
Computer Software - Restricted Rights" andDFARS 227.7202, Rights in CommercialComputerSoftware or Commercial ComputerSoftware Documentation, as applicable, andany successor regulations. Any use,modification, reproduction release,performance, display or disclosure of theSoftware by the U.S. Government shall besolely in accordance with the terms of thisLicense Agreement.
11. Export Regulation:You acknowledge that the Software andrelated technical data and services(collectively "Controlled Technology") maybe subject to the import and export laws oftheUnitedStates, specificallytheU.S. ExportAdministration Regulations (EAR), and thelaws of any country where ControlledTechnology is imported or re-exported. You

agree to comply with all relevant laws andwill not export any Controlled Technologyin contravention to U.S. law nor to any
prohibited country, entity, or person forwhich an export license or othergovernmental approval is required. Starting Norton 360
Norton 360 protects any computer on which it isinstalled. You do not have to start the product to be
protected. If Norton 360 detects a situation that
requires your attention, Norton 360 may repair it
automatically. You can also set Norton 360 to notify
you when a situation requires your attention, and you
can decide which action you want to take.
At any time, you can start Norton 360 to adjust the
settings, review your protection status, or performpreventive maintenance. You can access all of the
program features from the main window.

To start Norton 360
4 Do one of the following:
1 In the Windows notification area, double-click
the Norton360 icon.
1 On the Windows taskbar, click Start >All
Programs>Norton360 >Norton360.
1 Double-click the Norton360 icon on your
desktop.
Activating Norton 360To use all of the features in Norton 360, you must first
activate your product. Product activation reduces
software piracy and ensures that you have authentic
Symantec software. You can renew your subscription
after the end of your subscription period.
If you did not activate your product during installation,Norton 360 prompts for activation each time you start
the product. Also, you receive an activation alert
regularly until you activate the product.
w You must activate your product within the time periodthat the alert specifies, or your product stops working.
You can activate your product directly from the
activation alert. You can also activate your productfrom the Trial PeriodStatus link in the main window
or from theMyAccount window. In some cases, you
might need to enter your Product Key to activate your
product. You can activate or renew the subscription of
your product from any non-admin user account as well.
Activation should take only a few minutes.
To activate Norton 360, your computer must be
connected to the Internet. If you use a proxy server toconnect to the Internet, you must configure the proxy
settings. You can configure NetworkProxySettings
in the AdministrationSettingswindow.
To activate Norton 360 from the alert
1 In the alert, click ActivateNow or RenewNow.

To activate your product from the main window
1 In the Norton 360 main window, do one of the

1 If you purchased a subscription version of a
retail product, click ActivateNow.
1 If the product came installed on your computer,
click ActivateOnlineNow.
1 If you want to renew the subscription of your
product, click Renew.
2 Follow the on-screen instructions to activate or
subscribe your product.
About problems during activation
A connectivity problem can occur if you use parental
control software. If you suspect that parental controls
might block the connection, you can configure the
parental controls so that they do not block the
activation procedure. You need to log in to your
parental control software or to the Internet through
your ISP as an administrator to change your
configuration.If you use a proxy server to connect to the Internet,
you must configure the proxy settings. You can
configure Network Proxy Settingsin theMiscellaneous
Settings section.
Exploring the main windowWhen you start Norton 360, the main window opens.
The main window provides access to all Norton 360
features, options, Help, and Support. You can also view
the overall status of your protection categories,
computer and Web protection, file backups, and files
that are left behind when you use the Internet.

About managing messages and alertsNorton 360 displays messages in several ways and in
several locations.
You might see messages in the following locations:
Several types of Norton 360
messages appear in the
notification area, at the farright of the taskbar. For
example, your PC was turned
off, or it has not been
connected to the Internet for
a while. In this case, you see
a message that your
protection may not be up to
date.
A different alert appears if a
security setting was turned
off. This message warns you
that your PC might not be
secure and helps you to turn
on the setting.
In most cases you can click
the alert to open Norton 360and fix the problems.

You can install Norton 360 from a CD, a USB drive, or from a file that you
download.
To install Norton 360
1 Do one of the following:
If you install from a CD, insert the CD into the optical drive.
In Windows Vista or Windows XP, click Install Norton 360.
In Windows 7, click Launch Norton Install and then click Install Norton
360.
If you install from a USB drive, insert the USB drive into the USB port.
In Windows Vista or Windows XP, click Launch Norton Install and then
click Install Norton 360.
In Windows 7, click Open Folder to view files, double click Start.exe and
then click Install Norton 360.
If you downloaded your copy of Norton 360, double-click the file that you
downloaded.
2 In the Norton 360 installation page, enter the Product Key.
3 Click the Install Options link, review the options, and then click OK.
4 Click the User License Agreement link, and read the agreement.
5 After you have read the agreement, click AGREE & INSTALL.
