Brief History of Nepal

Prior to 2006, Nepal was a kingdom. Nepal is now a Federal Democratic

Republic. From 1996 until 2006, Nepal Suffered

from a Civil War between Government Forces and Guerrillas of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).

Brief History of Nepal

On December 28, 2007, The Interim Parliament passed a bill and declared Nepal to be a Federal Democratic Republic.

The First Meeting of the Constituent Assembly Officially Implemented that Declaration on May 28, 2008.

Media: Radio & Television Broadcasting Radio is listened to throughout the kingdom; As of 2007, there are more than 55 Radio Stations MW , SW and FM local radio stations, Television was only introduced to Nepal in the 1980s Currently there are six National television channels: Nepal Television - the Government television channel. Also many other networks, i.e. Cable Networks India, and international satellite Channels

Geographical Position of Nepal

Geography of Nepal is Uncommonly Diverse. Nepal is of Roughly Trapezoidal Shape,

880 km (550 mi) long and 240 km (130 mi) wide,

with an area of 147,181 square km (56,827 sq mi). Nepal is basically divided into 3 physiographic areas:

The Mountain Region (15%) Hilly Region (68%), and Terai Regions (17%).
