NexText - What is it?

A planned extension of Pearson’s current, fidelity-based, eText platform that provides the ability to support responsive layouts suitable for delivery to multiple platforms - tablets, smartphones, laptops and desktop computers.

NexText - Objectives

• A next-generation Pearson ebook solution that is based on industry standards (XHTML5, CSS3, EPUB3) and yet offers significant advantages compared to the competition.

• A superior ebook solution where responsive layouts are more appropriate than page-fidelity layouts.

• A completely accessible solution for all learners.

• A highly engaging ebook solution with great support for embedded interactive elements.

• A solution that supports multiple business models including standalone ebooks, libraries of ebooks and ebooks accessible through Pearson Learning Platforms.

• A robust set of “narrative content” web services for Pearson business units that want to create specialized ebook clients.
