Perkins PrideNewsletter to Michael J. Perkins Families October 2, 2013
Word from Principal MartinGreetings Families!
We have started the school year off well! We
could not do any of this without our amazing
teachers, community partners, and YOU, our
parents and families!
In this newsletter, we will tell you more about:
Anti-Bullying Month School Site Council Box Tops Open House Parent University
Anti-Bullying MonthOctober is National Anti-Bullying Month. We will
host a number of activities across the month to
address anti-bullying. We are asking students,
families, and staff members to identify what
bullying is and explore how we can create a more
safe and friendly environment where every childcan learn and thrive.
On Thursday, October 3rd
, we are hosting an anti-
bullying breakfast for parents to discuss their
experiences with bullying and help to devise an
action plan on how we can educate our children
and show them how to be A BUDDY, NOT A
BULLY!
We are showing
a clip from the
documentary,
Bully, to our
Fourth and Fifth
Grade students
and will have a
discussion following the viewing.
If you would like to support the Michael J. PerkinsSchool with activities to engage our children and
families in anti-bullying, please share this on the
feedback sheet.
