For those looking for a showstopper, Tavern Island offers aprivate island retreat that is rich i n history as well as its share ofcelebrity. Inhabitants of the island date back to 1651 wi th the arrivalof European settlers. The 3 -acre island later weathered the Britishinvasion of Norwalk, CT, during the Revolutionary War.
