How to add Podcast or Video to Moodle using the PoodLL AppPrepared by Nives Torresi

Why POODLL ?

Participants in the IRISH 1 Course online

Using the PoodLL audio and video media app is a fun way to communicate and introduce yourself to the others, but it is also a powerful tool to use later on when we want to listen to ourselves speaking Irish or to practice with other participants. So it is important to find out how easy it is to use this feature in the Moodle.

Then go to the Introduction page https://moodle4teachers.org/course/view.php?

Then go to the Using the Forums to see this Presentation-Video https://moodle4teachers.

Now let’s try out the PoodLL app so go to the Introduce Yourself Here page https:

//moodle4teachers.org/mod/forum/view.php?id=10358

Toggle the rich text editor

Now look for PoodLL app

Note: there are 2 mic apps for recording your Voice (=Podcast) and 1 VideoCam for Video

Add PermissionsIf popup is Blocked then you will need to unblock.

Then click on ALLOW use of Camera and Microphone.

You may need to click on the camera Icon to ensure the right Mic and Cam are selected.

Then always REFRESH the page!

Add an Audio fileAfter clicking on one of the Microphone icons...

ThisPopupWindow will appear…

Press on Record and go...

The second one works better for my computer, select the one that works for you!

Select Mp3 or leave it blank for an FLV file!

Click on Play, then Insert

Press on Play to listen to your recording …

If OK then press INSERT or CANCEL and start again!

Making a Video castAfter clicking on the Video icon...

ThisPopupWindow will appear...

You can check your settings to ensure that you have the correct webcam and microphone selected! Then choose Mp4 or unselected will create an FLV file. Both are fine!

Click on Record, Play, Insert

Click onRed button Click on

Stop buttonClick on Play then INSERT

Record your

Message...

Take a Picture too!

Click on the Camera Icon and the popup with your image will appear!

Click on ICON and voila!

Then post into the Forum Every time you press INSERT the file appears in your Forum entry/post...
