Q. Tel l us where you?re f rom and what is at the heart of Giorgio Maul ini?

GM: I was born in Caracas, Venezuela where I lived for 16 years. I have amazing memories from that place and it is also where I got in touch with music for the first time. Unfortunately during that time the political situation in Venezuela became unstable and insecure. Inflation also climbed to an astronomical level, so we decided to leave and pursue a better future somewhere else. I currently live in between Marbella, Spain where my family lives, and Crans-Montana, Switzerland in the winter where I work as a ski instructor. I also travel to Dubai from time to time when work opens up. In the meantime I follow my passion; that passion stems from producing my music and mixing in different venues.

Q. What genre of EDM does your music stem f rom?

GM: My music is a cross between Deep House, House and Tech-House. I am really influenced by jazzy and Latin sounds combined with synthesizers used back in the days in Detroit and Chicago when House Music and Techno where born.

Q. What plans do you have for the rest of 2015? Are you going on tour or release any new t racks for your audience?

GM: Hopefully I will keep on releasing more material in 2015. I have to thank my friends from Island Beats in Argentina whom are trusting in me to create this epic EP release. The plan is to release a few more of my tracks this year. At the same time I?m producing tracks of different genres that hopefully will get signed to different labels around Europe. Like with anything in life, with a lot of work and dedication everything will pan out for the best.

We?re planning on doing a tour in Argentina before the end of this year to present the EP with the guys of Island Beats. On tour, I will be mixing as always around Europe, hopefully I will hook up on a few gigs in Dubai also. You never know where music is going to take you. I just try to keep positive and work hard no matter what.

Q. Tel l us a l i t t le about your new t rack, 'Through The Woods,' where did the inspirat ion stem f rom? How did you come up the idea of mixing the rhythm and drumbeats together to form the chil l , almost t ransit vibe for your audience?

GM: I really like playing the drums, it's actually like one of those things that I automatically do when a song stars to play, you know, you start following the rhythm with your fingers as the drum kicks. So I decided I had to have a track with some Djembe drums in it and a chill deep House vibe in the back to make a perfect beach vibe track you can hear at any time.

Q. When you play in f ront of a crowd what goes through your mind f irst? As your beasts drop, what element do you hope to capture for the crowd so that at the end of the show you say, "Wow, that was a success"?

GM: I like to get the people to dance; I normally like to start my sets with different tracks maybe a bit funky and happy to get everybody feeling some good vibes. From there I start playing to the energy of the tracks steadily making them rise to a higher intensity level. I like a lot DJs like Move D and Motor City Drum Ensemble. Those guys shift from track to track and the energy and the good vibe never changes. So yeah, I would say success is to come out from my gig and see everybody smiling because they had a great time and knowing that they want to listen to my music again.

A Reason to RUN to Backwoods Music Fest ival From the forests of Sand Springs, Oklahoma comes an emerging new DJ and Topline Vocalist Morgan Ganem with his new single RUN. With catchy lyrics that?ll have you closing your eyes and swaying to the beat; Ganem says that he uses his voice as an instrument. After l istening to a few tracks we can all see why. With his wide range in vocals and talents his voice can definitely be added to his list of musical credentials. After tapping into various genres Ganem decided that EDM was the way to go and being the brains behind the venture he branched out and has worked with multiple artists in the f ield such as Tommie Sunshine, Shae 54, as well as an upcoming project with Zack Waters. Ganem comments that once he dropped his musical alias Dr. Plasticine and just started going by his name, doors started opening for him; as with many current artists the age of music aliases seems to have has long since passed. Ganem is out with a radio ready new sound that is incredibly uplif t ing. When asked what his inspiration behind RUN was Ganem said that it was meant to be an anthem of love and support for those of us seeking to embark on new endeavors. It was also written with the people who supported him with his journey in mind. See Ganem Live at Backwoods Music Festival September 4-6th; He is set to play The Meadow Stage Treehouse at 11pm on Saturday September 5th. https:/ / soundcloud.com/morganganem

You are the f irst mermaid model to be featured as a Raver Mag Girl , how does it feel?

It feels so amazing. I adore EDM and everything about it. I haven't been listening to it for long, but what I have listened to I love. The energy of the music lif ts my spirit and makes my heart soar. And the amazing outf its people wear to festivals - don't get me started. It 's really an honor to be the f irst mermaid model.

What got you into being a mermaid model?

Ever since I was a litt le girl, after seeing The Litt le Mermaid, Splash, and Aquamarine I was so into mermaids. My senior year of high school, I actually won a Facebook contest for a free shoot with a local photographer in my hometown. That sparked my interest in modeling and I totally got the modeling bug. Then when I was about 18 I looked up how those mermaid tails were made in my favorite childhood mermaid f ilms and learned that I could actually own a "real" mermaid tail myself . So not long after I bought my tail. I really owe it to co-owner and photographer of Eclipse Model and Talent, Nhan Tran, for making me a legit mermaid model. He is an amazing photographer and model mentor. I feel so blessed to be a part of the Nhan Tran Model family.

Being a mermaid model and in the fantasy/cosplay world, how does that relate to the EDM and PLUR l i festyle?

I love this question because the fantasy/cosplay community is a very open and loving one. It embraces people being themselves and just enjoying dressing up as something they love. It 's very similar to EDM and PLUR lifestyles. You can be all shapes and sizes, have a cloth tail or sil icone tail, whatever ethnicity you are, you're accepted into the family. You're surrounded by like-minded people and It 's really all about Peace, Love, Unity and Respect.

Do you feel the fantasy/cosplay fashion has a place in EDM events and music fest ivals and what would you wear?

It def initely does. I've seen so many amazing fantasy/cosplay fashion inspired clothing choices at festivals. I'm all about fantasy. Anything inspired by unicorns, fairies or mermaids is what I would wear. I would definitely wear what I'm wearing in the photos to a festival. Otherworldly Creations makes many gorgeous cosplay creations and this mermaid bikini is perfect for a PLURmaid to make her debut.

If you can at tend any fest ival which would it be and why?

I would totally attend Electric Forest held in Rothbury, Michigan. It 's said to be like a real-life fantasy experience making you forget real-l ife problems. I'm always daydreaming and favor fantasy over reality. I mean I'm a mermaid/model/entertainer and I swim in a mermaid tail. I l ive for bringing fantasy to reality. Electric Forest would be so perfect!

What?s your favorite genre of EDM and what is i t about i t that sets you f ree to the music?

Trance is def initely my favorite. I l isten to a lot of Progressive Trance. The dreamy melodies take me to another place and take my daydreaming to another level, setting my mind and soul free for a while.

In short, we?ve become entranced with this epic track. The vibe it creates is a PURE RAW element that few producers are able to master. As of late, Australia has been pumping out some of the best producers in the world. Some come with a deep progressive house vibe while others bring a more transic element to the scene. Few, very few, have the ability to master what Gemellini has been able to conjure up with ?Cavenda.? The Australian duo simply took this EP to a level all on its own. With a mix of transic and progressive beats this track blends together in perfect harmony, a harmony that can only be defined as masterful. What an experience it was to have the opportunity to catch up with 12th Planet this year at Imagine Festival. 12th Planet has a special place in the heart of Raver Magazine. The f irst EDM track Raver Magazine Editor in Chief Michael Beas ever experienced was the 12th Planet performing a live set at Ultra Music Festival.

So, the 12th Plant can rightly be held responsible for Michael becoming addicted to the EDM culture, the vibe and the massive energy. One result was the creation of Raver Magazine.

12th?s set at the Imagine Music Festival was uplif t ing and too the main stage to another planet, the Planet of PURE RAW energy. !2th Planet has become an EDM legend, but he remains down to earth and accessible to all his fans.

CRIZZLY TEX A S LEGEND

Performing Live at Imagine Music Festival 2015 Powerhouse Producer from Austin, Texas..... CRIZZLY

The ?Amazonia Stage? came alive on a massive scale when Crizzly took the stage. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, rushed up to get close. This was not a ?hands in the air? element that you would expect from an EDM Festival. No. This was Crizzly music; this was bass pumping, sweat dripping, loose your head in the vibe Austin, Texas style music that only a legend can bring to Atlanta Georgia. Forget a genre, Crizzly came to play.

Turntables or XBox What would you choose?

Page 18: Raver Magazine - September Edition 15

During an interview with Raver Magazine, Hanna Hughes posed the question, ?How long ago did you decide to produce music?" Crizzly?s response was inspiring.

?At 16 I was working at Walmart. I was a hard core gamer at the time and had just received my check. I had a CD turntable and an Xbox on my list of things I wanted to buy. I had to make a decision, go for the XBox or a CD turntable. Music is my passion, it?s where I saw my future. So I made the decision to take a step back from gaming to focus on my music. I created music f irst playing at weddings and in all honesty I was just happy doing that, I loved playing at weddings. I had my goals in mind and I stayed focused. In life you have to create your own luck. It 's staying focused and working hard that took me to where I am today.

I needed to be a wedding DJ to get more cash to buy the better gear, to buy a better laptop, to build a studio and to continue growing as an artist. In the end, hard work and the pure love of making Crizzly Music are the driving forces behind my success.?

?I?m from San Antonio originally. Texas has a great EDM scene. I wanted to be a part of that scene, to help make that scene grow. I would literally drive two hours to Austin to a warehouse where artists were mixing and then drive back home. I wanted to hear them mix, spin and create that vibe. I wanted to take in everything around me so that I could project it in my own music. That?s why Austin and San Antonio are so close to me. I support them and they support me. In all honesty that?s why Texas is the only state that I fully support and will always support. You really gotta represent your hood.?

Crizzly is real, he?s an artist who never forgets his roots or the hard work that it took to get to him where he is today. Dedication and passion for music is how to create your own luck. And that hommies is what makes our EDM culture a thing of beauty.

Check out more from Hanna Hughes live interview with Crizzly this Month on Raver Magazine TV.

The interview switched gears in a way that dug deep into the heart of Crizzly's home state of Texas. Why so much love for the Texas Crowd?

Speaking of Leah Culver music, we had to ask her about the new track ?Taken Back with Two Fold? released on FirePower Records last week. "Its a pretty remarkable story actually. The track is now number 14 on Beatport. I had been talking with Adam and Adam of Two Fold for quite some time about collaborating. I l iterally grabbed the track a few minutes before the wi-f i was cut from the plane."

The rest, as they say, is history. For information on her new track ?Taken Back with Two Fold? check out BeatPort http:/ / bit.ly/ leahculverravermagazine. Despite all of her success, Leah is one of the most sincere people we?ve had the privilege to meet.

High energy and a harmonic voice craf ted by passion is how we can best describe the vibe she resonated. Her fans were not disappointed; she came with a head banging energy that only Leah Culver could bring.

Raver Magazine had an opportunity to catch up with Leah shortly after her performance. One of the questions we asked was, ?What does Leah Culver consider success?? Her answer was as real as it can get. ?I consider success being happy and being able to help other people. Like if you are f ilthy rich I don?t consider that success. In all honesty, what is fame if your not doing anything on this planet to help others.?

Paying forward no matter what always gives off positive vibes that f ind ways to come back to you. Why, you might ask? The answer is simple yet more often then not lost in the depths of greed. We were happy to see that Leah?s love for music is focused on making Leah Culver music in a way that is true to her.

In an inspiring way, Marty Party caught up with Raver Magazine at Imagine Music festival this year. He makes music for the pure love of making music; nothing more, nothing less then the best vibe that he can create as a producer. His philosophy on the electronic scene today is deep and true to the heart of what it is to produce music; it 's genre defining with every beat that he creates. He takes the EDM community to a dif ferent platform that screams I'M HERE TO PLAY MARTY PARTY MUSIC. That is the essence of what def ines a true artist. Why do his fans love him? More than anything else it 's his ability to play on all types of platforms. With Marty Party music you can expect the unexpected and that?s what he brings to our culture. That is what he brought to the scene at Imagine Festival 2015.

Are we cooking with FIRE or FYER??? What an experience Party people! Master Music Makers FYER delivered a stellar performance on the Main Stage at Imagine Music Festival. With a heavy metal f lare they brought the place down in a unique way that is unique to the electronic scene. Bobby Duque was stellar with his rapid beating drums and mad energy as he lit up the crowd to the tunes he created with his brother in music Gabriel Guardian.

Gabriel?s head banging rock star performance gave off that heavy metal vibe that EDM fans are crazy for. FYER?s f lare and originality got the attention of everyone at Imagine. The crowd went nuts when they left they stage. True to form, FYER did a meet and great with some of the fans who were thril led to be part of their music up close and personal.

During their l ive interview with us we asked, "How is it that you able to play live music, mix, sing and get the crowd going all at the same time? It has to be one of the hardest things that one can do and frankly it is magical when it all comes together. "

FYER responded, "For us, it?s about creating that emotion with the crowd. We want our fans to go through all the emotions that music can bring. We put ourselves in place of the crowd as if we are the ones watching the performance and then we let it f low through what we make on stage. We want them to be happy and then say what the fuc*, no one knows what?s going to come next. "

These are guys you need to check out. Yes it?s new, but that?s what the electronic vibe is about. It?s about creating new memories with artists like FYER that can bring a unique vibe to our culture.

So many thoughts, so many emotions and so many moments that are almost impossible to put into words f low through my mind when I try to describe the unique vibe that was felt this year at Imagine Fest ival . The experience was simply unforgettable. Artists from all walks of l ife, from all stages in their carriers poured into Atlanta?s Historic Fourth Ward Park & Masquerade to perform what can only be described as genre defining tracks in front of thousands of excited fans. Speaking of fans, I traveled in from Miami, FL where half the plane was f il led with Imagine Festival enthusiasts all eager to get their Rave on. After stepping off the plane, I knew that it was going to be an out of control weekend.

Our Raver Mag team comprised of Nhan Tran, Chase Morgan, Ronald Welton and Michael Beas arrived shortly after 11 am on Saturday, August 29th to the festival grounds. The lane of artists performing f lowed like a river to the prep area prepared for those who came to play to the masses. The common theme amongst the crowd of performers was ?How can we blow out genres at Imagine Festival this year??

The temperature was a brisk 70 degrees throughout the weekend. Gray clouds quickly gave way to sunny skies that painted the backdrop of what would turn out to be one of the best festivals we?ve had an opportunity to attend and cover this year. Why? The answer is simple; Imagine Festival brought a sense of family that was close and deep not only with the artists but to those who came party!

Killer genre-defying performances were delivered by Eddie Gold, KAYZO, Leah Culver, FYER, KDSML, MARTY PARTY, 12th Planet , Bri l lz, Morgan Page and Texas legend Crizzly. While each of the artists listed brought their own unique f lare to the electronic scene it was a battle for the bass and sound come the last day. Dada Land and Datsik, both closing at the same time on their own perspective stages, clawed tooth and nail to win over the crowd who was awestruck by the history being played in front of them. After all, it?s not every day that two of EDM?s TOP 100 producers are playing their hearts out within easy walking distance from each other. This made the battle all the realer as the bass dropped from both sides. Fans were running back and forth to hear both performers grind out their tracks. We are not going to tell you whom we think one the battle, at least not yet anyway. All we are going to say is that this was a pure stroke of a stroke of genius on the part of Imagine Festival event planners who really know how to rage up the electronic crowd on closing.

WORDS THA T INSPIRE FROM THE HUSTLER HIM SELF BRILLZ!Photo by Chase Morgan Raver Mag. @Chaaze

Page 32: Raver Magazine - September Edition 15

Why? Because we feel that there is a story behind every person no matter who or where they are in life. We want our readers not to just l isten to the tracks being played, but to hear the message that resonates from the core of the artist. Some artists, to be completely honest, get lost in the circus that surrounds them. The music and its core values get lost when they make it to the top. But some, like Bril lz, have managed to keep it real.

Michael Beas ? Editor in Chief together with our Creative Director, Chase Morgan, posed the question, "What can another Producer, DJ, l istener or fan who looks up to you as an inspiration take away from your experiences in life that led you to where you are today?"

Here?s what Bril lz had to say. ?Part of l ife?s discovery is making mistakes. It took like ten years of hustling in the studio, to fail enough times, to make enough mistakes, to f inally learn from that. So what I want people to know is that if you make a mistake, or you take a wrong turn that?s ok because it all part of your growth process. In the end, it can only help you discover who you want to be and where you want to go. The reason why I am here today is because I just decided to be cool with that. You know, just be grateful with that, and even though it worked out for me, during the times that it didn?t I was stil l grateful.

"So you always have to be grateful for the things that you can be grateful for. It 's all a matter of perception, I think. The magnitude of that term is who and why the universe blessed me to be where I am today. In the end it?s a decision that I decided to make. I am going to make music for me f irst, to do what I l ike to do for myself f irst, to just make music that makes me hype and that?s simply been the game changer for me. Everything I do comes from me, it comes from the heart and that?s why truly I?m able to do what I love. ?

Want to hear more? Check out the follow up Live Interview with Bril lz coming soon to Raver Magazine TV.

We were fortunate to have the opportunity to catch up with Bril lz shortly after coming off his massive, highly addictive and wickedly masterful set at Imagine Music Festival. The crowd ignited when his name cut though the sky. In short, the performance took everything out perspective; it tore through space and collided across a dif ferent genre that was specially created with every spinning beat.

True to the core, his style was hustling up the RAW grind that everyone used to chew away the weekend.

Our goal at Raver Magazine is to f ind ways that to connect fans and artists.
