MAX IV

New facility replacing the present MAX I, MAX II & MAX III storage rings (and the present FEL test facility)

Consisting of:- 1.5 GeV ring (96 m circumference, 6 nm rad)- 3 GeV ring (530 m circumference, 0.3 nm rad, 19 straight sections available)- a short pulse facility that could be extended with a FEL

Funding available for buildings and accelerator

... but not for the beamlines

We hope to have funding for 7 beamlines this autumn including a microfocus MX beamline and possibly ahigh-throughput MX beamline.
