Weaving piece

-The weaving piece used for the cover is a sample of the different woven patterns and how

they work and change depending on the thicknes of the thread, the material used and the texture itself.

CARPET/RUG

The idea behind this carpet was to make something focused on colours and shape. So I decided to make something in pretty contrasting tones both warm and cold to achieve a flowing feeling, which made the waves and circles look like bubbles.

Cotton yarn as base for the pure merino wool knots. They were hand-dyed with artificial dyes.

Meassures are: 60 cm wide x 70 cm long.

Artistic Tapestry

The idea behind this project was to make something simple, geometrical and focused on the different weaving materials.

The fibers used on this tapestry work were thick soft cotton yarn, 4 strands pure merino wool and raffia so it had very different textures.

Meassures are 60 cm wide x 70 cm long.

Process

Pencil colours on basik paper. A4 size.

-We started with some coloured sketches of different compositions.

-Then picking up the best looking ones we changed their colours.

Gouache on thick basik paper. A3 size.

-After that we made the colour scheme experimenting with its properties.

Finally, a more artistic touch made with pencil for the turquoise, collage for light pink and gouache for the plum tone. A3 size.

Recycled Tapestry

The idea was making a whole tapestry work just using recycled materials. Plus, there were no sketches or drawings of any kind but just weaving and watching things grow up in a natural way.

The materials used were old and spoiled stuff such as jeans, tablecloth, t-shirts and fluffy wool. Some of the parts are sewn together with matching colour wool yarn due to the thick and tough texture of some of the materials plus adding more color tones.

Meassures are 100 cm wide x 170 cm long.

Screen printing

Hand-made stuff These pieces were made as starting projects to check inks, textures and colours. Moreover different techniques such as stencil and molds, both natural and self-made, were used to create the different patterns.

-Non geometrical print pattern made using a stiff rubber brush. Water-based ink on cotton fabric. A4 size. -Print pattern made using a hard cardboard mold as a stamp. Plastisol ink on cotton fabric. A4 size.

Flat table screen printing

Fabric printed with a repeating pattern. The inspiration was tribal, mainly African bold graphic style but with a colorful 60’s spin.

Self projects all of them. -The first one is a wallpaper made out of several drawings to make a balanced and impressive composition based on the rock band, My Chemical Romance. 1024 x 768 px. -Second is Medusa, the Greek mythological creature. Built up from several pieces such as the different snakes, eyes, face and lips. All together to enhace her mysterious and powerful sight. -Finally, the third again based on the rock band, My Chemical Romance but made to be a poster with the idea of “death” and “salvation” that comes in their album “Welcome to the Black Parade”.

Free-hand drawings

-Design constructed with the rhythmical repetition of different size dots. A3 size.
