“UD Dry Toilet” stands for Urine Diversion Dry Toilet. It can reduce the sanitary load to the environment by separating urine and feces, without using water. The most important task of night-soil treatment is to sanitize feces, then, to prevent waterborne disease from developing. After the separation, the feces can be incinerated or used as soil conditioners. And phosphorus and nitrogen contained in the urine can be precipitated and collected, and recycle as fertilizers.
