Your number one issue, and why? The biggest issues at the doors have been infrastructure, northwest LRT, and City Centre Airport. The number one issue has been infrastructure. In the older neighbourhoods people have asked at the doors when will their neighbourhood be up for neighbourhood renewal. In the newer areas I have been asked about all of the road and drainage work that is happening in Ward 2. I think it's the biggest issue because people care about their property values and making sure that infrastructure is getting attended to. Number two issue, and why? The number two issue has been questions at the doors about northwest LRT. I have had lot's of folks wanting to discuss the route and the timing for it to get built. Most people I have talked to are happy with the route, they just wanted it built yesterday. Number three issue, and why? The third issue and one that I am hearing more about this past week probably because of the latest Envision Edmonton ad campaign, is the City Centre Airport. Most people want me to explain why I voted the way I did and seem satisfied when I do explain. Which should be a higher spending priority for council, LRT construction or road construction, and why? LRT construction. I would argue that roads need to be maintained and LRT needs to get built. With an aging population and being a post-secondary city we are behind a number of other cities when it comes to providing an excellent rapid transit system. If we can create a regional transportation system where we get LRT lines built out to our neighbours and hook up places such as West Edmonton Mall, our post secondary institutions and hospitals, I think we will dramatically improve the quality of life for our citizens. City council has turned down a motion to hold a non-binding plebiscite on keeping the City Centre Airport as a general aviation facility. Should the new council reopen the airport issue? No. The challenge with the City Centre Airport is that our citizens voted in 1995 to consolidate scheduled air service at the Edmonton International Airport. A lease agreement is in place until 2052 and in 2012 the last bit of scheduled air service at the City Centre Airport will end leaving a gaping financial challenge for the City Centre Airport to continue to be viable. This will mean that our citizens will have to subsidize what is essentially a small amount of aviation users to keep this airport open. I think it makes more sense to close it over time, have the city develop the lands, generate more tax revenue and save $150 to $200 million on LRT going across it and allow NAIT to expand.  Do you live in the ward where you're running?

What are the three biggest issues in your campaign?

Your number one issue, and why?The biggest issues at the doors have been infrastructure, northwest LRT, and City Centre Airport. The number one issue has been infrastructure. In the older neighbourhoods people have askedat the doors when will their neighbourhood be up for neighbourhood renewal. In the newer areasI have been asked about all of the road and drainage work that is happening in Ward 2. I think it's

the biggest issue because people care about their property values and making sure thatinfrastructure is getting attended to.

Number two issue, and why?The number two issue has been questions at the doors about northwest LRT. I have had lot's offolks wanting to discuss the route and the timing for it to get built. Most people I have talked toare happy with the route, they just wanted it built yesterday.

Number three issue, and why?The third issue and one that I am hearing more about this past week probably because of thelatest Envision Edmonton ad campaign, is the City Centre Airport. Most people want me toexplain why I voted the way I did and seem satisfied when I do explain.

Which should be a higher spending priority for council, LRT construction or road

construction, and why?LRT construction. I would argue that roads need to be maintained and LRT needs to get built. With an aging population and being a post-secondary city we are behind a number of other citieswhen it comes to providing an excellent rapid transit system. City council has turned down a motion to hold a non-binding plebiscite on keeping

the City Centre Airport as a general aviation facility. Should the new council

reopen the airport issue?

No. The challenge with the City Centre Airport is that our citizens voted in 1995 to consolidatescheduled air service at the Edmonton International Airport. Favourite place in Edmonton, outside your home? Our river valley. We went to Laurier Park just the other day to see the balloons take off and hangout with our friends who have a dog. It was a nice short break from door knocking. I am alwaysamazed at how you can feel like you are not in a city when you are walking anywhere in our rivervalley system.

Three fantasy guests you'd like to have dinner with, and why? Can be living, dead

or fictionalBono, the lead singer of U2, Alexandre Bilodeau the amazing Canadian olympic mogul skier, andRachael Ray the chef. I have been a fan of the U2 band since I was a teenager and Bono is notonly the lead singer but he is very politically active as well. I would like to meet AlexandreBilodeau to hear his olympic story first hand but also to ask him about training since my 10 yearold son is into mogul skiing. Finally, cooking is not my area of strength I would love to be able toget cooking tips from Rachael Ray.

What type of car do you drive? Make, model and yearHonda CRV 2002

What is the best advice you ever received The best advice I ever received was from former City Councillor Larry Langley. He told me thatyou need to make decisions based on the facts and always do the right thing even if is not thepolitically easy thing to do.
