SZÁNDÉKOS VAKSÁG A willful blindness (szándékos vakság) egy jogi kifejezés, amely Amerikában használatos. Arról szól, hogy ha létezik olyan információ, amelyről tudhatnánk, sőt tudnunk kéne, de valahogy úgy intézed, hogy mégse tudj róla, akkor a törvény szán- dékos vakságot állapít meg ebben az esetben. Mert úgy döntöttél, hogy ne tudj a dologról. Ilyen például a banki jelzáloghitel, a katolikus egyház gyermek- molesztálása, az Iraki háború vagy a politikai élet. Bizonyos körülmények között mindannyian szán- dékos vakságban szenvedünk. Így vált tökéletes táptalajjá számomra hazám helyzetének és globális kérdéseknek a vizualizálására. Próbálom az alkotói folyamataimat visszatéríteni a széles közönséget megmozgató nagy kérdésekhez, amik az életről, önmagunkról vagy a saját orszá- gunkról szólnak. Össze kellene kötni a dolgokat, hogy a kultúrát ismét arra tudjuk használni, hogy jelen lehessünk a saját életünkben, filozófiai és reális vagy valóságos szinten is. This concept serves as a perfect frame for the visual representation of the state of my country and relevant global issues. I try to channel my creative energies toward signifi- cant issues that concern the public in general; issues that deal with everday life, our individual selves and the context within which these unfold and function: the country, the homeland. Things need to be integrated so that culture as such once again may assist us in becoming more present in our own lives both on an abstract or philosophical as well as a more concrete and realistic level.
