Project Component 2 Developing an information

system for SWM in Yangon

The project works on such capacities development through the creation of a basic SDI system, focused on jointly prioritized data, supported with technical trainings. The GIS based tool created will contain strategic geographic elements (location + basic information) at township level, trying to include key data on the HH and IW flows. E.g., the PCCD staff will be supported in the digitalization of maps, routes of trucks and key points such as the SW temporary stations, associating useful information for each point; or the location of industries of an industrial zone, indicating the typology of production.

စမကနးသည အေျခခ SDI စနစဖနတးျခငးဥးစားေပးသငေသာ အခကအလကမားအား ပးေပါငးအာ႐စကသြားျခငး ႏင နညးပညာဆငရာသငတနးမားပ႔ပးျခငး အားျဖင စြမးေဆာငရည တးတကမႈပငးတြင လပေဆာငသြားမညျဖစသည။ GIS အေျခခ ကရယာသည ၿမ႕နယအဆငတြင ဗဟာေျမာက ပထဝဆငရာ အခကအလကမား (တညေနရာႏင အေျခခသတငးအခကအလကမား) အမႏင စကမႈလပငနးစြန႔ပစပစၥညးမားစးဆငးျခငးဆငရာ အေရးပါေသာ အခကအလကမားပါဝငေစရန ႀကးပမးျခငး တ႔ပါဝငပါလမမည။ ဥပမာ ပတဝနးကင/သန႔႐ငးေရးမ ဝနထမးမားအား ေျမပမားက ဒစဂစတယစနစလပျခငး ထရပကားလမးေၾကာငးမား ႏင အေရးပါေသာ ေနရာမား ဥပမာအားျဖင စြန႔ပစပစၥညးထား႐ရာ ယာယေနရာမား ၊ ေနရာတချခငးဆ၏ အေရးပါေသာ သတငးအခကအလကမားစေဆာငးျခငး သ႔မဟတ စကမႈဇမားထမ စကမႈလပငနးမား၏ တညေနရာမား ထတလပမႈဆငရာ အမးအစားမားက ညႊနျပျခငး တ႔က ပပးေပးသြားမညျဖစသည။




Training is based on the training of trainers (for GPS data collection) and learning by doing methodologies (for data analysis and reporting), sustained by a basic theoretical background and a help desk communication system to support the trainees at distance. Basic rules to develop simple forecasting models are also included as last achievement of the component.

This WP includes the following sub-activities: • Initial data assessment (NOW) • Training on GIS basic concepts (LATER) Both activities are performed through an ad hoc mission in the country by Ithaca experts (2). In the first activity they work together with PCCD Executive Engineers to analyze the context and get inputs for the following SDI design activity (WP 2.2).

In particular by means of interviews and workshops, this activity will detail what reference maps and data are used in SWM in PCCD HQ; who (Department or Ministry) is in charge for its maintenance; what are the procedure for PCCD to obtain those data; what are the key-data having a spatial component in SWM.
