Урок проводился в 11 классе вгимназии. В группе 11 человек. У многих учащихся достаточно высокий интерес к изучению предмета, развитына достаточном уровне общеучебные умения и навыки, неплохие потенциальные возможности к овладению иноязычной культуры. Есть способности к абстрактному мышлению, обладают концентрированным вниманием, хорошо развиты все виды памяти. С большим интересом ребята относятся к творческим заданиям, с удовольствием выполняют нестандартные задания.

Данный урок построен в соответствии с программными требованиями. Так же был учтен принцип комплексности, который предполагает взаимосвязанное обучение всем видам речевой деятельности. Учитывались психологические и учебные способности учащихся. Урок позволяет проверить знания тематической лексики, а так же развивает навыки устной речи, позволяет учащимся говорить об экологических проблемах и предлагать пути решения этих проблем.

Тема «Экология» считается довольно сложной, так как в ходе её освоения учащиеся должны узнать много специфической лексики. При подготовке к уроку, учащимися усвоен не только обязательный лексический минимум, но и много нового дополнительного материала. В целом урок построен на ситуации свободного общения. Учащиеся получали возможность свободного выражения своих мыслей и чувств, мнения каждого участника общения не осталось незамеченным. Все этапы урока были логически подчинены рассматриваемой проблеме.

На уроке активно использовались информационно-коммукативные технологии, которые призваны не только мотивировать учащихся к изучению английского языка, но и максимально приблизить общение на уровне к реальному, преодолеть языковые барьеры.

Воспитательный потенциал прослеживается на любом уроке. Настоящий, хорошо продуманный, четко спланированный урок воспитывает всегда: своим содержанием, поведением учителя, организацией работы детей, общением их

между собой и учителем. Воспитание – процесс целостный и непрерывный. После каждого урока что-то должно остаться, некое духовное приращение, какое-то пусть и крохотное нравственное зернышко.

Look at the apple. Imagine it’s our Earth. I’m cutting it into 4 pieces. Three quarters of the Earth surface is water and only ¼ is land. One half it is habitable. The rest of the land is the deserts, mountains, frozen ice – caps and other places where people cannot live in. And now I’m cutting this half into 4 parts. It’s impossible to believe but only 1/32 gives us food and shelter. And it will be a catastrophe if we destroy it. I’d like you to think over this problem much more seriously and find out the ways to save our fragile planet.

concerned. First of all we pay attention that we drink dirty water, breath bed air, animals, birds and forests disappear; there is a lot of trash in the streets. Most ecologists say that technological progress is guilty for bad ecology in the world. Do you agree? you for taking the time to meet with us today. Let’s starts our conference. How can we keep the Earth clean?Howcan we protect the environment?This is the question. And the answer is our program.I think during our conference

we will make the program how to protect the environment, to save the nature, to keep the Earth clean!

Participant1. Since ancient times Nature has served man, being the course of his life. For thousands of years, people lived in harmony with the environment, and it seemed to them that natural riches are unlimited. Unfortunately, later our technological civilization, thinking only of material goods, succeeded in destroying Nature and creating the ecological crisis on our planet.

Nowadays we fly to other planets and discover old manuscripts; we create artificial intellect and get to the depth of the ocean. We release tremendous energies… and cause global disasters. We build the tunnel under the Channel and pollute our beautiful planet.

About 150 years ago the air was pure and clean. Then people started building factories and many of the things they make, like cars, put a lot of harmful substances into the air. Today the air is so polluted in some places that it’s not always safe to breathe there.

Polluted air is not only bad for people and animals, but also for trees and plants. And in some places it’s even damaging farmers’crops – the food we eat. So it’s very important for us to «clean up our act», and clean up the air we all breathe.HostHow can we stop air pollution?P1Save and protect forests because they are the lungs of our planet. Trees produce oxygen which we breathe.P2Use public transport as often as you can. First concerns trams, trolley-busses and metro, because they don’t pollute the environment

P3Produce and use cars which work on electricity P4Use and install good filters in our factoriesP5Not burn solid wastes, build factories for utilizing solid wastes.

HostWe must save our nature, the woods and the forests, but many trees have been cut down every year and many animals, birds and plants have became extinct.

Participant2 Forests are in danger. The world has over 9 million sq. km. of forests. But they are disappearing fast and only because of fires. Every day we use paper and cardboard made from wood. We use different kinds of wood to make furniture and other things. Every year huge forests are cleared for different uses, and a lot of forests are so badly damaged that they will hardly be able to recover.

By the way, some medicines come from trees and from plants and flowers which grow in the forests. There are many illnesses which we still can not cure. There are old ones like cancer and new ones like AIDS. It may be that the medicines we need will be discovered in wild plants in savannas, deserts or rainforests. If we destroy these places, we will never find the cure.

Our useful insects: bees, bumble-bees, butterflies can’t live in the atmosphere of chemicals and pesticides. Every 10 minutesone kind of animal, plant or insect disappears. If nothing is done about it over 1 million of species will disappear in 20 years from now. There are about 500 species and animals in red Data Book.

HostWhat are the Green solutions? -Governments in rainforests countries need to plan and work together. -They should protect certain areas and plant new forests. P1We shouldn’t cut wild flowers. We should plant a three every year.P2 Organize national parks, fight against poachers.HostAnother problem is water pollution.Participant3The planet Earth is mostly water. All life on the Earth – from the

smallest bug to the biggest whale – depends on water. It’s precious. Many rivers and lakes are poisoned too. Factories and plants produce a lot of waste and pour it into rivers.

Nuclear power stations can go wrongand cause nuclear pollution. This happened in Wind scale in Britain, in the USA and Chernobyl. Nuclear pollution cannot be seen, but its effects can be terrible. In such places the birds and animals leave their habitats and many plants die.

Today people are worried about the threat of nuclear power. Chernobyl disaster 1986 is the result of the explosion of a nuclear reactor has badly effected Belarus. About 18% of soil in the country are unfitted for farming and many districts are dangerous to live in. The nine million people living in effect areas have received the highest known exposure to radiation in the history of the atomic age. No people have ever before been continuously exposed to such levels of long-lived, man-made radiation.

Participant2 But modern life is imaginable without electricity and energy. It lights houses, buildings, streets, provides domestic and industrial hit and powers most equipment used in homes, offices and machinery in factories. At the moment 94% of the world energy comes from fossil fuels. Coal fuels over 40% of electricity world life. There is enough for the next 300 years. But only enough gas and oil for the next 50. What happens then? Well, one answer is nuclear energy.

Host Beside, there are still nuclear weapons in some countries. As a result the environment is polluted with the industrial and nuclear wastes. It is dangerous to nature and to people, especially to kids. And we must say – No nuclear station! No atom bomb. Let’s listen to the poem “Child’s wish”.

stations. People must save themselves. HostThere many things that have negative influence on man’s health. What are

they?Participant5The ozone holes… You see in the atmosphere there is the ozone layer.

It protects the Earth from the ultraviolet rays of the sun. But the ozone layer is destroyed by a stuff that aerosol sprays and refrigeratorscontain. People will have to take measures because the dangerous rays get thought the atmosphere causing skin cancer and other diseases. Secondly farmers often spray chemicals on crops to protect them against pests. These chemicals are called pesticide. Scientists have found that these pesticides often end up in our food. They can cause health problems, especially for kids.

HostHow can we stop the depletion?The Green Solutions.

You should ovoid products that are dangerous to the ozone layerLook for ozone - friendly spays and keep away from genetically modified foodsWe must stop using the aerosol spray right now.Don’t spray chemicals. Don’t spray pesticides on crops.

HostAnd these items are our program’s items too. Another problem is land pollution.

Representative of press: One of the invinental problems is land pollution. One of the environment problems is that we are making much garbage. When we

throw something away it goes in a garbage can. Then all garbage is taken to a garbage dump or landfill. Most of our garbage is just buried. But now there is not enough room to hurry it all. So what had people better do with litter? Sure! They must recycle it. Do you know that the energy saved from one recycled aluminum will operate a television set for 3 hours. And if you throw it out of the window, it will still litter the Earth up to 500 years late. When I was in Singapore I saw a poster which said «Singapore is the Garden City of Asia - Keep it clean and green. In Singapore

there are rather strict laws behind it. Propping litter in public places is forbidden. You can be fined up to $500. I think it’s very reasonable. We must all strive for the clean environment.

The modern way of life when people have little physical activity, use cars instead of walking, watch television for many hours and work on computers is turning them into legless creatures. We have to change the situation for the better.

Member of G.P. I want to admit that there are global problems between the relations of Man with Nature. In order to solve these problems, society must promote education about environment by creating programs for students of all ages. We must try to make people more aware of environment issues. We are part of the natural environment and need to be responsible for our interactions with our environment. We must recognize the important of our planets systems and variety of life. We need to think about our part in theenvironment and now actions such as use of water production of rubbish and energy consumption, directly destroy our wild life and natural habitats.

If we don’t begin to change our behavior, we will have no world to live in. you can cycle, walk or ride a bike, plant a tree and appreciate the peaty of the nature around you.

So, in spite of everything, we believe that the Earth is our common home, a big green house. All the inhabitants - people, animals, birds – need to live in peace and harmony.

Why must technology bring apology to ecology?To answer this question me mush first of all learn the meaning of the word

“ecology”. Ecology is a science which studies the relationship between all Forms of life on our planet with its environment. This word came from the Greek “oikos” which means “home”. This idea of “home” includes the whole planet: it’s population, the nature, animals, birds, fish, insects, all other living beings and even the atmosphere around our planet. Do all of them live a happy and healthy life in our Home nowadays? Unfortunately, it is not so. Indeed, many territories, water, basins, lakes, rivers, seas, oceans – and the atmosphere are polluted with all kinds of technological, agricultural, chemical, nuclear and other wastes. The intensive development of sciences, industry and chemistry in the 20th century has made the pollution of our environment a global problem which should be solved by all means.

Besides, rapid growth of our population (there are about 6 billion people living on our planet now) needs more and more land, food, goods and modern conveniences for newly-born people. The production of them in large amounts will greatly increase the pollution of the environment. And what to say about the awful harm caused to our Home by nuclear tests, atom bombs and accidents at our atomic power stations? Isn’t it high time to start solving this global problem and to make our life in our Home happy and healthy?

Now you know the answer to the question of why technology must bring apology to ecology. You are right. Because it has polluted and is badly polluting our environment.
