Title:emotional intelligence and its relationship to decision-making among a sampleof public sector employees and the private sector Taif GovernorateObjectives of the research:The research aims to uncover the relationship between
emotional intelligence and decision-making in the study sample. Depending on the
variables of the study variable of work (public / private) and a variable qualified
scientific and variable number of years of work experience and training courses andvariable life and variable changing the social situation (married / unmarried)
Sample research:research sample included (508) member of the public sector and
the private sector, province of Taif.
Tools of research:
1- measurement of emotional intelligence, which was designed by Osman and Rizk
(2001 ).
2- scale adoption of the resolution prepared by the Abdoun (1979 ).
Methods:
- Pearson correlation coefficient (Pearson)
- T.Test
- Analysis of variance unilateral (ANOVA)- Testing of the multi-regression (Stepwise Multiple Regression)
Results:(1) Results showed that there is a positive correlation between the degree of overall
emotional intelligence and the degree of overall decision-making among members of
a sample survey of public sector employees and private-Taif Governorate at the level
of significance (a = 0.01).
(2) Results showed that the dimensions of emotional intelligence together explain a
high degree of variation in decision-making in the public sector employees and
private province of Taif, where the level of significance (a = 0.01).
(3) Results showed that there were significant differences at the (a = 0.05), between
the average levels oflevel of statistical significance emotional intelligence of the
staff of the public sector and the private sector and the province of Taif, in accordance
with the variables of the study.
(4) Results showed that there were significant differences at the level of (a = 0.05),
between the average levels ofstatistical significance decision-making among the
staff of the public sector and the private sector and the province of Taif, in accordance
with the variables of the study.
Recommendations:
1. Training courses and practical workshops to train staff on how the dimensions of
emotional intelligence in the decision-making.
2. Work on the establishment of the Center for the adoption of the training of staff inthe public sector to the province of Taif, the mechanisms and procedures for the use
of the skills of emotional intelligence.
3. Adoption of seminars, lectures, seminars and workshops by those responsible for
training at training centers around the province of Taif, the decision-making process
to increase staff awareness of the nature of the process and all of its steps and skills
required of the employee is in terms of knowledge and practice.
