3GPP Release Roadmap
Overview
–3GPP 에서는 Release 라는 형태로 규격을 짧게는 1년, 길게는 3년 단위로 작성/배포
–1999년이후 2008년까지 6개의 Release 를 배포
– Release-9 는 당초 LTE에서 구현하고자 하였으나 기술적 복잡도 및 일정문제로 미뤄진 것으로 2010년 완성을
목표로 하고 있슴
– Release 10 에는 LTE-Advanced 를 구현하는 것이며 현재 연구 단계임
–한국에서 운용중인 WCDMA 망은 Release-5 에 기반

3GPP IRP Concept
Overview
–3GPP 에서는 기술변화에 유연하게 대처할 수 있도록 IRP를 3가지 level로분리함
–Level1 에서는 IRP 요구사항을 기술
–Level2 에서는 IRP의 추상화 된 object model 을 작성 (예: Information service)
–Level3 에서는 실제 구현에 필요한 solution set 을 기술 (예: CORBA SS의 경우 IDL . SOAP SS의 경우 WSDL)

Advanced Alarming on Itf-N (AAM)
Overview
–신호망/전송로 장애와 같이 특정 alarm이 연관 alarm을 다수 유발하는 경우에 alarm이 대량 발생하여 IRP manager와
IRP agent에모두 부하를 발생하며 alarm의 root cause 분석이 어려운 문제가 있슴
– IRP agent에설정 가능한 rule 기반의 alarm filtering 과 같은 제어 operation 추가
–Rel-8 에는 CORBA SS만 추가됨
Requirement
–Define requirements and methods to improve the information content of alarms (e.g. to help identify the root cause of an alarm and the instances affected by it), thereby contributing to reduce the time-to-repair.
–Define configurable rules for advanced alarm filtering and reducing the number of alarms by applying such advanced alarm filtering.

Alignment with eTOM and M.3060 architectural concepts
현황
–기존 Mobile Network의 ITU-T 표준은 TMN 기반의 M.3010과 초기 TMForum의 Telecom Operation Map (TOM) 에
기반하여 작성됨
–TMForum에 의해 발표된 eTOM (Extended TOM) 은 차세대통신망(NGN)을 서비스지향 아키텍쳐(SOA)로 모델링 하여
네트워크 서비스와 비즈니스 프로세스를 개선하고 운용비용을 절감하고자 하는 목적으로 제안된 것으로
기존의 TOM 모델을 대체하여 많은 통신사업자들에게 지지를 받고 있슴
–Rel-8 에서는 ITU-T eTOM 모델 및 ETSI NGN OSS 표준안에 맞추어 기존 TM high level design spec 이 변경됨

Overview
–HSUPA 는 상향링크 데이터 속도를 5.8Mbps로 향상한 것으로 Release-6 에서 표준화 됨
–HSUPA 도입에 따라 기존 UTRAN MAC에 MAC-es / MAC-e 등이 추가됨
–HSUPA 성능측정 counter를추가 반영하기 위해 TS32.405 가 update 됨

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for UMTS/GERAN
Overview
–KPI (Key Performance Index)는 operator가 network를 monitor 하는 데 매우 중요한 요소로 자리잡고 있으나
각 vendor 와 operator 별로 독자적인 기준으로 KPI를 설정하고 있는 것이 현실 (예: success ratio, drop ratio 등)
–독자적인 KPI 운용에 따라 다른 vendor / operator 간 network 품질을 측정하기가 어렵고 불공정한 문제가 발생함
–망 품질측정을 위한 KPI 들을 정의하기 위한 표준 작성 필요

Overview
–eNodeB가추가로 증설되는 경우 몇 몇 파라미터는 기존 eNodeB 파라미터와 상호 연관되므로 사전 값 설정이 불가함
–Dynamic Radio Network Configuration Data Preparation 은 추가되는 NE뿐 아니라 기존 NE의 파라미터도 자동 조정이

Overview

- IT 기술의 발전에 따라 3GPP Release 배포 시 신규 정합 Interface 가 추가되거나 제외되기도 함
예) CMIP 퇴출 및 SOAP/HTTP 추가
- 실제적으로 vendor에서 3GPP release 에 규정된 모든 IRP를 제공하지는 않으며 NMS에 연동에 필수적인 IRP를 주로 제공
