Let's Go on an Adventure with V Bear!Hi folks!I'm excited to share the news that V Air launched its Taipei-Macau service on April 10th. Now, follow me to explore the new destination! The colonial past makes Macau a lively testimony of the co-existence of eastern and western cultures during a unique chapter in history. Most travelers can feel the uniqueness of the city through the architecture and food. The magnicent architectures of the Ruins of St. Paul's and St. Dominic's Church really blew my mind! The Macanese cuisine is a perfect mix of Chinese and Portuguese dining culture, very tasty!Macau is the 3rd scheduled service of V Air. The carrier has served over 50,000 passengers since it took the skies in December 2014 and has been receiving compliments on its Taiwanese-style cordial service. I'm thrilled that Macanese friends now have the opportunity to experience V Air's young, energetic service!Taiwan's scenery in summer will definitely wow foreign travelers. May is the perfect season for the Hakka Tung Blossom. Follow me to explore secret spots and immerse in the absolute romance of falling snowakes of the white Tung owers! Besides, Dragon Boat Festival is coming too! Please forgive me that because of my oversized body, I will not be joining boat racing, but I will cheer for all the teams onshore and taste sticky rice dumplings, yum!Oh, do you know V Air website has been developed as a one-stop trip planning platform? It is a must to experience Macau's night life, but one cannot leave without also discovering the Historic Centre of Macau a collection of urban squares, streetscapes, churches and temples, creating the ambience of a European hill town. One of the most popular photography spots, the Ruins of St. Paul's, is what's left of St. Paul's College and the Church of St. Paul after a fire in 1935. Rippled lines formed by pebble stones make Senado Square an aesthetically pleasing site, while the neighboring Holy House of Mercy and Leal Senado Building echo the blend

of Chinese and Portuguese cultures.Other well-liked tourist attractions include St. Dominic's Church, St. Joseph's Seminary and Church, St. Laurence's Church, and Guia Fortress. Visitors can also admire the beauty of traditional Cantonese-style architecture with a hint of western inuence at Casa de Cheang.Next stop, the 338-meter tall Macau Tower offers another type of fun the highest commercial sky jump in the world! GourmetUnique blend of Chinese andPortuguese cuisine

More and more foodies have traveled to Macau in groups just for a taste of the local cuisine. Macanese cuisine uses typical ingredients and spices from the East, and mixes Portuguese, African, and Southern Asian cooking techniques.Classic Macanese dishes include piri-piri chicken from Africa, Portuguese style marinated cod fish balls, jumbo shrimps in spicy sauce with a southern European air, and traditional Portuguese desserts such as the Macau Pudding and egg tarts. In addition to the fabulous Michelin-starred fine diners, delicious snacks, such as pineapple bun with butter, pork chop bun and French toast, can be savored in open-air food stalls, tea restaurants or dessert shops dotting the alleys. Travelers can also try Cantonese style congee and steamed rice rolls for breakfast, and crab porridge as a late night bite.KAFKA Sweets & Gourmandises has recently grown extremely popular, featuring handmade creative desserts that are tasty and simply delightful.

    ShoppingCultural and Creative Products

Although Macau only has one large-scale shopping mall, numerous stores and shops occupy the shopping centers that are found within each resort, ensuring everyone's buying needs are fullled.Nicole

Now in trend in Macau are reasonably priced cultural and creative products. T-shirts, toys or accessories with traditional Macanese elements and symbols are now great gifts for friends and family back home, in addition to the conventional gift choices.Cunha Street is known for offering take-home gifts. At the entrance is the 3-story Cunha Bazaar founded by Macau Creations and Choi Heong Yuen Bakery as a platform for young artists to showcase their creativity. MOD is another original cultural brand that

provides adorable products inspired by local architectures and traditional festivals.

Those who appreciate cultural arts are encouraged to stop by the old Albergue of the Macau Holy House of Mercy, where diverse cultural activities and exhibitions are offered. Mercearia Portuguesa is also worth

a visit; visitors can purchase selected jam, soap, plates or bowls with

vintage-style gift-wrapping, adding a special touch to your shopping

    experience.

As an island surrounded by sea, Taiwan has lots of fun, exciting water activities to offer such as surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, rafting, river tracing, etc. Here in Taiwan, indulging your passion for the water is easy to do, and limited only by your imagination!

    Its Time to Hitthe Beach!

Surng > I will conquer that wave!Taiwan is an island with long summers, which is perfect for water sports! There are many good locations along the coast for surng, a popular activity amongst local youngsters. In fact, Taiwan is also known worldwide for its fabulous surng spot! With just a surf board and a leash, one can be ready to surf in no time. Beginners, with the guidance of a professional and enough practice, can pick up the hang of it and enjoy the fun of surng within a fairly short time. The exhilaration of conquering big waves is what makes surng so fascinating. The most popular surfing spot is at Wushi Harbor in Yilan, where the Pacific Ocean offers surfers with great waves. Surf boards can be rented, so anyone could easily go for a surf anytime. Different activities can be found on the beach too, allowing everyone to enjoy themselves. Just keep in mind that it can get extremely crowded!Twin Lion Beach and Honeymoon Bay, both not far from Wushi Harbor, are quieter options for surfers or tourists who wish to simply relax and avoid the crowds. Also in Yilan, Wuwei Harbor Beach is a hidden gem for the experienced surfers. Additionally, another great surng spot can be found further down south in Donghe Beach, Taitung, where it is known for having beautiful waves created by the pebble stones at the bottom of the sea. Many local hostels provide travelers with a surng training package as well!

Diving > Let's go nd Nemo!Have you ever imagined yourself as the character in Finding Nemo, swimming alongside beautiful coral reefs under the sea? Diving is an enchanting water sport that requires not only passion and courage, but also proper training provided by a certied coach. Divers are reminded of the importance of caring for the environment at all times. They mustnt litter, nor touch or capture underwater creatures.Lanyu and Green Island, two smaller islands off of the main island, are considered best for diving all year round. With the diverse underwater environment and average 30-40 meter visibility, Lanyu and Green Island are surely one of the worlds No. 1 diving spots that can never be missed.Travelers may also snorkel at Lanyu and Green Island if they prefer not to dive. In Green Island, snorkelers may be surrounded by sh during feeding hours. In Lanyu, local residents emphasize the importance of living with nature as it is to protect and preserve the environment.Divers will also enjoy their time in Xiaoliuqiu, where the water temperature is on average between 25 and 28 Celsius throughout the year. The underwater visibility is approximately 15 to 30 meters. Not only is there a chance to see sea turtles, but divers can also swim in and out of a sunken ship!Back on the main island in northeastern Taiwan, Long Dong Bay Park has a diving depth of about 15 to 25 meters deep, which is more suitable for beginner divers.

  • River Tracing > Trek forward, hike up and swim acrossRiver tracing, also commonly known as river trekking, is a popular form of hiking that involves climbing and swimming along the river against the current. This activity is exceptionally exciting in Taiwan because of the various valleys, waterfalls, deep pools, etc. that are found in the numerous mountains on the island. Although it is physically challenging, the experience is undoubtedly memorable and especially well-liked by explorers. In Hualien, people can go in groups to try out river tracing with an experienced tracer, starting downstream of the river and going all the way upstream. With each journey lasting from half to a full day, it is perfect as a family or friends outing activity.

White Water Rafting > Challenge nature with enthusiasmThe prime destination for rafting is Xiuguluan River located in southeastern Taiwan, which ows through Hualien County.Every summer, the section of the river that allows rafting is lled with one red rubber boat after another. Along the journey, rafters get to take in the magnicent scenery of valleys and unique rock formations, adding a layer of amusement to the experience. For those who don't wish to travel so far from down south, there is also an up and coming rafting place in northeastern Taiwan the Annong River in Yilan. Rice Dumplings in TaiwanThere are great differences in the way of making rice dumplings between northern and southern Taiwan. Long grain glutinous rice is preferred in the north, where ingredients are cooked separately before adding in rice and steaming them together, then all the stufng ingredients are wrapped in bamboo leaves to form the shape of rice dumplings. They will be steamed again before serving. In southern Taiwan, however, people favor the stickier short grain glutinous rice, which is cooked directly by pan-frying the ingredients and wrapping them together with rice in bamboo leaves. There are several typical types of rice dumplings that are common and popular locally. For instance, Hu Zhou style features rice cooked in broth; Cantonese style is famous for its huge portion that is usually equivalent to 5 servings of a normal rice dumpling. The aromatic "alkaline" sweet rice dumplings come in bite-size. They may be served with or without bean paste lling, and usually taste better when chilled.
