Definition
Intranät• internt datornät (t.ex. inom en organisation) som utnyttjar samma teknik som internet,
men som inte är åtkomligt från internet
• Skriv intranät, med liten begynnelsebokstav, som översättning av eng. Intranet.
Kommentar
• Det finns bara ett internet, men intranät finns det flera av. Därför är det naturligt att behandla intranät inte som ett namn utan som ett vanligt ord och följaktligen skriva det med liten begynnelsebokstav och ge det en svensk form. Självklart kan ordet också böjas: intranätet.
Vi avråder från Extranet och den försvenskade formen extranät, som ibland används som benämningar för den del av ett intranät som har viss åtkomst utifrån, och förordar en förklarande omskrivning.
