MISSION STATEMENTOur mission is to provide seniors withoutstanding housing options, as well asuncompromising care, and to ensure our
residents lead the happy, healthy andproductive lives they deserve.
Berry PopularCranberries have been a tradition at the
Thanksgiving table since the first feast in 1621.Native Americans taught early colonists thatthese wild fruits were a valuable food and ahealing remedy, using them to treat wounds. These days, about 80 million pounds of theberries will be consumed during the holidayweek alone.
Make Time for Quiet TimeThis time of year is known for holiday hustle
and bustle, but seeking out some quiet timeshould be on your to-do list. There’s evidencethat sustained silence may stimulate the creationof new brain cells in the region of the brainresponsible for learning and memory, accordingto a study. Tuning out external noise also allowsyou to tune in to inner thoughts, memoriesand emotions.
A Note From Our Executive DirectorHappy November! We have a
busy month ahead of us, somany happenings at ThePromenade! Let’s start off byremembering our Veterans! “Aswe express our gratitude, wemust never forget that thehighest appreciation is not to
utter words, but to live by them.” JFK. We can neverbegin to let them know how much we appreciate themand everything they have done for us. “Veterans Daygives all Americans a special opportunity to pay tributeto all those men and women who, throughout history, have left their homes and loved ones to serve theircountry,” declared President Reagan in 1986. Salute thecountry’s 20 million veterans on Nov. 11.
In addition to local and regional events, a VeteransDay National Ceremony is held each year at ArlingtonNational Cemetery. Here at The Promenade, we have anumber of different events to honor our veterans. Please check the calendar and try to come out andthank a Vet.
Last but not least, we hope all of our PromenadeResidents and families have a very happy and healthyThanksgiving
A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, butthe parent of all the other virtues. — Cicero
