About Jonathan

I joined BMO Nesbitt Burns as an Investment Advisor in early 2016. I was previously a Financial Services Manager with the BMO Bank of Montreal Branch in Oakville, where I strengthened my skills in the investment industry. My dedication to my clients, attention to detail and my business acumen, are all key abilities that I bring into my role. I specialize in providing customized investment solutions for high net worth clients, and have developed a reputation as a highly trusted Investment Advisor within my community and BMO Financial Group. I made the decision to join the Marshall Wealth team because it married both experience and methodology that mirrored the process I wanted to invest in.

My family and I immigrated to Canada from China in 2004. After completing high school in Vancouver BC, I came to Toronto and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Toronto. I am a FPSC Level 1™ Certificant and a CFA level II candidate.

My wife Karen and I live locally with our son Jayden. When not working, I enjoy fishing, spending time with my family and am also very involved in the community.

Your portfolio will reflect your risk assessment, time horizon, tax needs and cash flow requirements. It is the sum total of your Risk Evaluation, the Macroeconomic Outlook, Quantitative Analysis and appropriate Asset Allocation.

If there is a material change in your needs, the economic picture, a company’s outlook or BMO Nesbitt Burns’ interest rate outlook, Geoff will react dynamically within the market and adapt to the changing environment where required.

Our ServicesMeridian ProgramA customized fee-based advisory program that provides a traditional investment relationship without commissions. You are involved in the day-to-day investment recommendations within your portfolio.

Managed Portfolio Account Program (MPA)This program establishes a direct relationship between you and Geoff as your accredited Portfolio Manager. Day-to-day investment decisions are made on a discretionary basis by Geoff in accordance with a clearly documented Investment Policy Statement based on your needs and goals.

Our fees are highly competitive and offer excellent value. Fees for non-registered accounts are potentially tax deductible against income. Fee schedule available upon request.

Geoff’s business has been built by referrals. Referrals are always welcomed. Minimum Portfolio qualification is $500,000 per account.

Our TeamGeoff Marshall Vice President Portfolio ManagerGeoff has been a Portfolio Manager since 1992, and has been working in the investment industry since 1987. Since joining BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1998, Geoff has been a perennial recipient of the President’s Council and the Directors’ Council awards. He is passionate about everything he does. This is immediately apparent to his clients by the level of dedication he applies to managing their portfolios.

Geoff holds a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, he is a Chartered Investment Manager, a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, and a Life Insurance Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns Financial Services Inc.

Geoff grew up in Oakville, where he graduated High School out of Appleby College and has spent over 50 years in the community dedicating a large amount of his spare time in a variety of community outreach services to help those in need. Geoff and his wife Heather have 5 grown children. With their spare time, they enjoy golfing, hiking and are avid sports enthusiasts.

Chris Hanna Associate Investment Advisor

Chris joined BMO Nesbitt Burns in 1999 after graduating from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree.

As an Associate Investment Advisor, he is fully involved with clients in all stages of the investment process. His attention to detail and problem solving, make him an invaluable member of our team.

Chris was born and raised in Oakville. He currently resides in Toronto with his wife Melanie and children Joshua and Taylor.
