Battery is a device that converts the chemical energy of electrolytes into electrical energy by submerging two electrodes (+, -) in electrolytes, and stores the electrical energy for later use. The stored electrical energy can be used on demand when necessary and this is called discharging.
* Electrolyte : Diluted Sulfuric Acid 38%, Specific Gravity 1.280Battery functions through the cycles of charging and discharging. During the
discharging cycle, sulfate(SO4) bonds with polarized plates and its specific gravity decreases as it separates from water. During the charging cycle, the bonded sulfate(SO4) returns to electrolytes and its specific gravity increases again.
After batteries are used for prolonged period of time and charging and discharging cycles are repeated, anglesites (lead sulfate crystals) can build up on the plates during charging.
Sulfates can combine with the plate or with other SO4’s to cover the plate with layers, forming an insulating membrane. This layers of sulfate build up eventually cut off the passage for electrochemical reactions and this is when we say battery is dead or needs to be discarded.

Efficiency of battery is lowered when sulfuric acids makes strong bonds with plates or other sulfuric acids, preventing PbSO4 from repeating necessary cycles.

Restoration Method
When a dead battery is connected to the Restorer, the artificial intelligence using MyCom controls restoration time according to the condition of the dead battery. 95% or above of the battery is restored over a few hours to maximum of 45 hours(95% is less than 20hours and about 5% is less than 45hours => Refer to manual).
Restoration process is indicated by two indicator lamps – RESTORATION Lamp (RED) & PULSE Lamp (GREEN).

Five dead batteries were purchased from a body shop for this test. First, each battery’s voltage was measured. Secondly, each battery was restored using Ecosaver Restorer. Thirdly, batteries were left alone to self discharge for one week. Lastly, discharging capacity of restored batteries in comparison to new batteries were tested.
