DESCRIPTION

Root resection is an outdated method of saving a tooth with compromised periodontal support. A common mistake in this procedure is when a "lip" of root is left at the furcation (where roots devide). This allows destructive inflammation to worsen, and therefore shorted the life of the tooth. A poorly carried root resection case was treated by replacement with a dental implant by Dr Jin Kim, a board-certified periodontist in Diamind Bar, CA, and by Dr Maria Kim, a general dentist in Arcadia, CA.www.DrJinKim.com
