fritillary gone long

Fritillary  Gone  Long  Adapted  by  Andrea  Denby  

                     This  is  just  an  adapted,  rectangular  version  of  the  lovely  triangular  Fritillary  shawl  by  Aparna  Roffe.    This  version  is  worked  long  and  straight  from  the  centre  out,  from  a  length  of  initial  chain.    Number  of  chain  in  multiples  of  10  +  4  (including  1ch  turning)    After  the  first  2  rows  (the  chain  &  set  up  row),  it  is  a  straightforward  6  row  repeat  for  a  long  as  you  want.    I  suggest  ending  on  a  scalloped  edge,  and  doing  an  extra  row  of  dc’s  (US  sc’s)  with  a  picot  at  the  apex  of  each  scallop.  As  yet  I  haven’t  adapted  the  gorgeous  edge  patterning  of  the  original,  an  update  will  follow  when  I  do.    For  now  here  is  the  Chart  for  the  basic  straight  version.  O  =  chain  X  =  dc    (US  sc)  F  =  tr  (US  dc)  

   Centre  join  working  into  both  sides  of  the  chain,  nb.  if  doing  the  alternative  version  of  the  join,  keep  your  chain  fairly  tight,  so  the  ‘holes’  aren’t  too  big
