Improvisation of the structure shape is made in order to realise structural wise where proper joints are needed to connect the members.

The final design comprise of slanted frame (roof) where distribution of the forces and loads are discussed beforehand.

Beam-to-column connection

Cross-halving used to joint the roof frame. L-shaped bracket was used as connector to connect the roof to the main column. It will support the column when load is being transferred directly from the roof to the floor.

Flat-shaped bracket used to connect between roof frame to another part of the column. Roof joist are attached onto the roof frame by cutting it to angle the slanted roof structure.

The two secondary columns are angled and attached to the floor using screw. The secondary columns that also connected to roof frame will carry the load directly from roof to the floor. It provides support and stability to the structure.

The top of two secondary columns are attached to the roof frame using the flat-shaped bracket.

5.4 ROOF

On top of the roof frame, a vertical column added to increase the height of structure. It also to make the roof slanted by making one side is higher than the other side.

The butterfly roof being supported by the roof joist equally on each side connected using nails.

Polycarbonate roof is used because it can resist weather condition better and long lasting.

The cutting of roof joist are angled according to the height of roof frame.
