企業工程兼管理 (榮譽) 理學士學位 (JUPAS Programme Code: JS3571) Enterprise Engineering with Management (EEM) Integration: Making use of the best of both worlds: Engineering and Business Enterprises are industrial and commercial organizations that shape the economy of the modern world. They include all types of organizations, such as business companies, manufacturing firms, airlines, banks, government departments, etc. Enterprise Engineering involves a family of scientific methods and tools which focuses on designing and changing enterprises, their processes and systems. Management can be defined as the art of getting things done through people. It is the process of leading and directing an organization, such as a business enterprise, through deployment and manipulation of resources. The integration of enterprise engineering and management, together with the application of internet and information technology, provides the principles, practice, tools and technologies to enable an organization to effectively manage its resources; achieve competitive advantages; deliver quality products and services, and meet customer expectations and demands. Programme Aim The EEM programme aims to provide students with comprehensive education and professional training at honours degree level for preparing enterprise engineers who are competent to design and run complete "enterprises", distinguishing them from other engineering professionals. Our definition of enterprise includes all types of organizations, such as banks, insurance companies, hospitals, government departments, and manufacturing firms. BSc (Hons) in Enterprise Engineering with Management Professional Recognition The programme is dual accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Students will receive a second professional qualification upon successful completion of the programme subject to CMI moderation of learners' work. Mr Alex Lo won the second place of IEOM Undergraduate Research Competition Award in the 3rd European International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management in 2019 Mr Harry Chen received 2nd Runner Up Award in the “HKIE – MI Student Project Competition 2018-19” organized by HKIE – Manufacturing & Industrial (MI) Division Career Prospects Graduates from our programme undertake a wide range of jobs in the commercial and industrial sectors, such as public utilities and service organizations. Their careers lead to managerial positions with responsibility for the areas such as business process management and operation re-design. I have learned the way of doing both in the EEM program. This program enables me to think and make decisions from both business and engineering perspectives. Placement Opportunities and Industry-related Final Year ProjectsLocal and overseas placement opportunities are provided to our students for broadening their horizons, and to apply and practice what they have learnt from their academic studies. They gain valuable experience and build career networks by working in well-established organizations such as Hang Seng Bank, Ernst & Young, Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT) Ltd., Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd, OOCL and ASM Pacific Technology. In the final year, graduating students will be guided to complete a capstone project for applying and consolidating their generic competencies and professional knowledge learnt from the programme. Students are entirely free to choose to study this programme or BSc (Hons) in Logistics Engineering with Management 物流工程兼管理(榮譽)理學士學位 in Year 2. This provides flexibility to our students to make choices based on their interest after having foundation knowledge in logistics and enterprise engineering.
