Digital innovations are transforming both business organizations and the society. In recent years, a few themes of technology innovations have emerged—e.g., Data Science, Virtual Reality & Gamification, AI & Robots, Block Chain, and Internet of Things. These technologies will engender both opportunities and challenges to business organizations. There is thus a pressing need for new talents that understand and promote digital transformations in organizations.

To answer the demand above, the Department of Management and Marketing at PolyU is dedicated to providing the cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills for our students in three key areas of business—Management, Marketing, and Management Information Systems. We bring together around 50 academic and professional experts from across the globe to provide high-quality education. They possess a comprehensive portfolio of expertise in the main fields of business—organizational behaviour, human resource management, consumer behaviour, strategic management, and international business—and specialized areas such as public-sector management and business analytics. In particular, our Management subjects have been ranked Top 10 in the world by ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects in 2019. Through rigorous teaching and active engagement with the business community, we focus on developing students’ leadership skills, team spirit and social responsibility in the Digital Era.

We believe that every student is unique and shall pursue career success via his/her own path of academic excellence and innovative thinking. Our students come from diversified cultural backgrounds. We have carefully designed our programmes at both the undergraduate and the graduate levels to create an engaging learning environment. We have two well-established centres—Centre for Leadership & Innovation (CLI) and Asian Centre for Branding & Marketing (ACBM)—that produce leading research outputs. We have also built close connections with the local and regional business communities. Students will benefit from these diverse resources and develop their pioneering visions and entrepreneurial thinking. Following our Faculty of Business motto of IDEAS—Innovation-driven Education and Scholarship, we encourage our students to question the status quo and to discover, design, and deliver new business solutions of real-world impacts.

Please explore our website for more information about our programmes, people, and latest developments.
