    What is it? Dublin Comhairle Na ng is the citys Parliament for Young People aged 7 to 17.Elected representatives from schools and youth groups within the Dublin City Council area meet every 4 to 6 weeks from

    September to May and discuss issues relevant to them.

    The benefits include:-

    Meeting other people from the city interested indiscussing ideas and projects that affect youngpeople.

    Working with statutory and government agenciesto help them make the right decisions for you.

    Electing representatives to attend Dil Na ngeach year.

    Learning about Local, National and Internationalgovernment.

    Visiting projects thatwork with young people.

    Meetings usually take place inthe Council Chambers ofDublin City Hall and are entirelyrun by the young membersthemselves.

    How to join Elections to the Comhairle are held every two yearsfrom September to November and the next rounds willbe held in 2008, 2010 and 2012.

    There are places for 10 representatives from each ofthe five Dublin City Council areas (see map) to form aComhairle of fifty members.

    If you are a school, youth group or project working withyoung people interested in being part of DublinComhairle Na ng please contact the Area Office fromyour area (see the full list on the back page) and ask forthe Community Staff.
