Bridge plays a vital role in its drive for better road access and economic stability in Bangladesh, one of the riverine countries. Currently, Meghna-Gumti bridge is under rehabilitation work of Eastern Bangladesh Bridge Improvement Project funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
