Hydraulic Force Transducer: A transducer is a device that converts one form of energy to another form of energy. Hydraulic Force Gauge: A hydraulic force gauge is a small measuring instrument used across all industries to measure the force during a push or pull test.   4. 4. CLEAR VISION SOUND STRATEGIES SOLID PERFORMANCE Hydraulic Theory The hydraulic force gauge uses the principles of hydraulic force transmission. The force applied to a piston is converted into hydraulic pressure which forces a curved flat tube (Bourdon Tube) to Un Bend moving the pointer to the measured force. Hydraulic force gauges are per design intended for static or near static applications. Static is where the force to be measured F" remains steady for at least 1 second. Continuous rapid changes in force can destroy the pressure gauge, but the gauge may be protected with a special throttle (Hydraulic Choke) against rapid increasing / decreasing loads.   16. 16. CLEAR VISION SOUND STRATEGIES SOLID PERFORMANCE The Erichsen force gauges are made out of stainless steel and hermetically sealed into a closed circuit filled with hydraulic oil. Mechanical limits are integrated into the Erichsen force gauge to minimize overload conditions. These gauges should not exceed load capacities. Immune to ESD (Electro Static Discharge) and transient voltages unlike their electronic counterparts. Operate in harsh conditions where traditional load cells wont operate. A Hydraulic Choke may be ordered to minimize load fluctuations (Note; this will not protect from overload conditions). Optional version may be ordered with Semi Rigid Stainless Tubing or Flexible Capillary Tubing. This allows the manometer to be mounted remotely from the load source. For example; in hazardous environments, tight spaces or when the load application is remote from the user. Standard traceable certificate comes with every Erichsen force gauge.17025 optional certificate is available. An optional digital manometer is available on 329 and 343 models. Only the gauges with the standard 63mm manometer have maximum pointers. What is the 6mm Extension Connection Tube? This is a straight semi-rigid tube to extend the manometer away the gauge base, available in 50, 100, 150, 200, 300mm lengths. What is the load rating speed? Not less than 1 second to reach Full Load Capacity. What precautions should I take if I need to monitor fluctuating loads? Assure that the loads measured fluctuate between 10 to 80% of full scale. Assure that nominal loads are reached in not less than 1 second. We recommend using the optional Hydraulic Choke.
