Not only is it a time to

A few short months ago, we arrived to Beautiful Camp Humphreys with little knowledge of the Army and much less our new environment. I did, however, know that ACS should have some information. My first visit consisted of

information regarding additional household goods, namely, a crib for the baby. On that visit I received many smiles and a lot of information. This information precipitated my subsequent visits as I began to toy with the idea of getting

back to work and/or doing volunteer work. ACS always had the information and the smiles. I know that my successful experiences here at Humphreys are a direct result of my experience with ACS. I barely scratched the surface. ACS has a wealth of programs, information, classes, etc. for US- the Soldier, the Spouse, the Family...

Sunburn - Home Treatment Home treatment measures may provide some relief from mild sunburn. -Use cool cloths on sunburned areas. -Take frequent cool showers or baths. -Apply soothing lotions that contain aloe vera to sunburned areas. Topical steroids (such as 1% hydro-cortizone cream) may also help with sunburn pain and swelling. Note: Do not use cream on children younger than age 2 unless told by your doctor. A sunburn can cause a mild fever and a headache. Lie down in a cool , quiet room to relieve the headache. A headache may be caused by dehydration, so drinking fluids may help. There is little you can do to stop skin from peeling after a sunburn, it is part of he healing process, however, lotion may help relieve the itching.

Fourth of July CelebrationJuly 3 join the CDC at 1100

in celebrating USA's 234th Birthday! Children and staff will have a parade and play music and songs.

Parents are invited to partake in this event. Remember to wear our nation's colors, red, white and blue. Children, Parents and Staff will also

have a picnic to include bag lunches. Bring a towel to sit on and enjoy the festivities.

"Good-byes" at the CDC It's the Army way, you have people who come and go through your life. The CDC will be losing two valuable and irreplaceable employees this month. When you go in tomorrow morning and see Amber Cupp behind the front desk give her a hearty farewell. Liz Minguela, is also leaving the first days of July, and there are quite a few tots that will miss her smiling face as well. During this PCS season we are losing a lot of our friends and coworkers, and new people come to take their place. Perhaps we should take a moment everyday to appreciate the people around us...

July Technology TipWired-Fidelity, better known as Wi-Fi, is becoming more and more commonplace

everywhere we go. Public restaurants, transportation terminals, theme parks are just a couple examples of places offering Wi-Fi connections. One thing to remember is that

although you are using your device for connecting, the information is traveling on an unsecured path. The same is true if you setup a wireless connection

in your home. If you don't secure your wireless network, others may take advantage of free internet courtesy of you. Securing a wireless network is not a difficult task

and needs to be done immediately. Refer to the manufacturer's website for technical advice on securing your network. Often there are picture tutorials that will show you,

step by step, how to secure your router or access point. Key security issues include changing default router password, creating a unique Security Set Identifier (SSID) and

configuring encryption using Wired Equivalent Privacy (WIP) at a minimum. Be sure to use strong Passwords and keep them in a safe place!
